Actually it does...you need to be born of water first, which we all are so in essence you are correct

'repent and be baptised' has nothing to do with being 'born again', or as discussed in John 3. read it seventy x seven.

you are only explaining your cathecism.

actually they are not .. i am a person obstinately opposed to all things roman catholic .. but NOT anything Bible . if they were promoting the catholic cat' -id jump on it . but they are quoting scripture .
you must be born of water AND of the spirit .. you dont get "born again" by believing .. but in obedience .

you can't be born anew except you die in christ first .. you must be BURIED with him in the waters of baptism (sprinkling does not even come close) and it must be done in conjunction with repentance (not saying sorry for sin and then continuing to willfully do it ) and in FAITH that god will cause your old man to die into christ's death ,that by HIS spirit you will also be raised up as a new creation on Christ .. ie - born again as a new creature . [if you dont have faith he will do this then al you will get is WET ]so it could not be MORE incorrect to say that occurs by simply believing and saying so. devils beleive and they are not born again.
get back to what the whole scriptures say and not select verses .

lol of course .. it omits the need for true repentance and causes continuance of ones favorite sin to be intellectually excused .. but its isn't .sin is never excusable but it is to be repented of .. Jesus said .. "repentance for the forgiveness of sin is to be preached ". repentance is NOT saying sorry and then doing again any way

you are not reading my post clearly, to be born again is NOT dependent on whether you believe or not.

please do not insist and repeat your answer, you wont find such teaching from christ in John 3.

I've never seen nor heard of anyone rejecting Jesus and being born again also,
UNLESS they repented and believed on Him Who was Slain and turned to Yhwh FIRST.

it is the same argument , the initiator is still man and God reacts. think!

which obviously proposes the preposterous & ridiculous -> that man 'born again' himself by his own initiative.

but that is NOT taught in John 3.

    Not at all.
Why did or do you think that way ?

Man was just minding his own business, dying, and could do nothing at all to help himself.
God had a Plan, and put it in motion in Jesus,
and accomplishes all parts of the Plan in His grace.

How is man the initiator in anything of God ?

You're the one who brought up "man initiated" something,
why did you do that if it's wrong and off topic ?

how come you have been to long in this forum written 5200+ messages and yet you do not even understand the meaning behind what your wrote ?

    on post 153, you wrote:

I've never seen nor heard of anyone rejecting Jesus and being born again also,
UNLESS they repented and believed on Him Who was Slain and turned to Yhwh FIRST.

it is quite clear you are suggesting being born again is preceded or conditional by man repenting, believing 'first'.
in this regard man initiates, and to be 'born again' is the result of this initiative.

am i correct ? or do you have a double meaning behind what you wrote ?

Of course it does. To be born again, one must be forgiven of God and be transformed. Thus the verses in Acts 2:37-38say:

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

sorry, doesn't say anything about being 'born again'.
unless it is implied in what you just wrote, which you are not saying.
