What have you understood about the charcater of The Ten Commandments??

I will like to know what have been our personal understanding of the Ten Commandments and they relationship in the work of salvation.
I believe that putting our believes to the test is useful to gaining a right perspective.
I have placed a poll where you can vote more than once according to what you have accepted/understood from scripture.
Maybe we can come to a consensus at the end of the exercise.

I have learned that the 10 commandments come with a curse. For no man can be deemed righteous through them. For only through Christ can one be saved. And the Love of God in us and working through us has set us free from the law of sin and death. For it is Love that fulfills all God has commanded.

The Law was always meant to bring us into an awareness that we contain lawlessness.

The mistake is to think it's ever lawful.

I'm a combat Marine who has broken all ten commandments.

I was baptized in 2005 by The Church of Antioch. I give regular confession, and take communion every time it is offered.

What is your judgement?

You didn't get an answer. Just the usual obfuscation the rest of us are confronted with. Elder111 won't answer my questions, I read his contradiction to Deuteronomy 4 here, I read how he rejected Ellen White's definition of the Investigative Judgment on another thread, and I have come to the conclusion that he spends the night making up junk for the forum.

We? you started talking about Job instead of Israel comparing a disobedient people to more obedient people like Abrahm and Job while I equate Israel prior to enslavement in Egypt as disobedient such that God essentially abandons them to their own desires and they became slaves to sin.... and Egypt also.

Did not Jesus come and show us that it can be kept? Is that not what the indwelling of the Holy Spirit does?
Is the law the problem/curse: or the tendencies of man to sin? Is it not that committing adultery is the curse/the cause of death, and not the law that says thou shall not commit adultery?

I'm sorry but the Holy Spirit in Christians hasn't shown that it can perfectly have anyone but God himself keep the Law. All you have to do is show 1 example of a born again Christian breaking the Law to defeat such a ludicrous argument. I have NOT seen a single newly born again Christian suddenly desire to keep the Sabbath command, they have to read the Bible and find the commandment and take it as a "suggestion" to even acknowledge that it actually exists.

Your assessment is not the case. They did not go to Egypt as slaves and spent hundred of years before they became slaves.
Why do you run from the truth so or is it because I say it? If some else had said the same thing would it have been accepted?

No they didn't go to Egypt as slaves.... they were enslaved however and God didn't rescue them until they sought after him. They were disobedient for the most part to what they had been taught through Abraham about God. The Bible equates God finally hearing their cries for help but I believe that for the most part they were only wanting God as an out for the situation not as their ruler. This notion is shown by their actions in the desert when they sinned greatly unto God. I contend that God would have rescued them earlier if their had truly been more willing to truly follow him but it took millions of them to just have enough to make a small nation core of believers to survive and it took a harsh law to keep even those few in line along with those who were not as much believers but just along for the ride till things got too tough.

The real issue to those promoting the 10 IS the Sabbath. When Christians (wrongly) admit that they are bound to the 10 by those who demand it they march in and demand they observe (improperly) the Sabbath. Christians by Jesus 2 commands already cover 9 of the 10 commandments but to Sabbath Keepers this isn't enough. I have yet to see ANY Sabbath keeper come across a valid argument involving the Holy Spirit inspiring new believers who are ignorant of the Sabbath to suddenly desire to keep it. It is only those who have some sort of a clue about it prior to salvation that seem even mildly interested in it. We don't see them flocking to keeping the Sabbath because the Holy Spirit does NOT convict them that it is a SIN NOT TO keep it. I have however seen Christians convicted of idolatry, murder, adultery, essentially 9 of the 10 commandments but never the Sabbath. In other words the Holy Spirit seems to be IGNORING the Sabbath command in Christians which means...... it apparently isn't abiding by the 10 commandments for us to keep.

Isn't it true the Ten Commandments bring a curse? Yes they'd be a blessing if for any compliant individual. The truth is there are none, thus the curse.

Can love do evil?

Doesn't you last question reveal sin as in non compliance with the law?

What do you think Elder? If it is merely the Sabbath you're after, why don't you keep it as written? For one to be obedient they must comply in whole. Unless you do you're willingly disobedient at this point in the game.
