  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What have you made lately?

I was thinking more along the lines of deep fried icecream or deep fried sticks of butter.

there is also a restaurant in Vegas called the Heart Attack Grill….where everything is fried/made in lard.

You guys deep fry everything, don't you!
I was at a carnival/festival type thing once, and saw a booth advertising "fried bacon". I was a little confused because bacon is usually fried. I went to inquire about it and was told that they fried it, and then battered it and deep fried it again. :| I had to try it. A little disappointing. I see no need to try and improve bacon.

I had an Elm tree (40 ft)start to die last summer from a non direct lighting strike. That actually, the lighting strike, struck a Cedar tree close by. The Cedar tree lived, but the Elm began showing last summer from the top, limbs losing its leaves and signs of dying from the top down. So i decided this summer to cut it down myself and to use manual saws (instead of gas powered). So i already had a really good pole saw that i used to de-limb the tree with. But i also purchased a one-man log saw (photo) to use in cutting down the trunk.

After getting three sections cut, i took one section and cut it off level and made a stump seat to use in my art classroom at school, I took the stump seat and applied a table top varnish, so the seat would not lose bark below photo.

Here are a few additional photos of just my work so
far.

I know it's not physical (yet), but I've been learning 3D modelling on the Blender software suite. Quite a learning curve, but here's my progress over the past couple of days, modelling Odzun Church, Armenia.

looks tasty!
I've got some bread on the rise at the moment. With electricity being what it is, I find myself looking around for things to cook while it's hot. (Having lasagna for dinner, so putting a loaf in for breakfast tomorrow)
