First of all no protestors were killed by the Trump administration in any event other than this one.

Much to Donald's (and his followers') profound disappointment. And certainly not for lack of trying.

Next you are changing the circumstances again, the crowd did not charge anyone,

Breaking a window and crawling into it is not the accepted method of entering a building -- at least not in my neighborhood.

next I do not need and never have had to use a firearm to take control of any unruly unarmed person,

Clearly you don't deal with any unruly unarmed people in your line of work.

I do not know of anyone who has other than the officer in this case.

Clearly the world is much bigger than that which you personally know about.

The truth isn't slipping away. People know that Trump and his supporters tried to overthrow the government. The people trying to deny it being being bad. Is in support of the government being illegally overthrow. So Trump can be the president.
I believe some facts are overlooked here. When the dust settles on a few recounts (audits) it will become clear who overthrew the government.

Unless one considers the mob itself to be a weapon... superior numbers combined with inferior self-control is always a recipe for trouble.
Sort of like what happened in Portland?

Obviously you know much more about my world, what I have done, and who I know, than I do.

Was I supposed to pretend you weren't making it obvious? My bad.

Yes, a lot of people believe what you believe. A lot of people believe Mohammed is a prophet of God. A lot of people believe in ghosts. A lot of people believe in magic. A lot of people believe the earth is flat. A lot of people believe that on January 6 everyone who entered the capitol were peaceful visitors in a tour group. A lot of people believe there's a guy named Q who has the inside scoop on the cabal that controls everyone in power except Trump and that Trump is the second coming of Christ.

But just because you and a lot of people believe something it doesn't mean that it's true. Choosing to believe in something simply because one wants to and having no evidence for it is pretty meaningless. All the things I stated above are examples of this.

But for now it's easy to say you believe the big lie that's being spread by Trump's supporters, since you know that you can drag it on indefinitely. Even if a recount fails to prove your belief you and the others who share your belief will provide another excuse of that being the result of some kind of fraud or cheating.

So thanks for sharing your belief here but it doesn't convince anyone and it really doesn't matter what belief you hold if it can't result in proof and change (and it can't and won't). I'll look for the next excuse in 3....2......

That's not how that's supposed to work. Or rather, it is the exact reverse of how it works.
I used to agree, but the power of our beliefs seem to alter our perceptions.
January 6th is a good case in point.

January 6th was an assault on the capital of the United States, pure and simple. Some watched, others attacked.
The follow up question then is , by whom? Trump supporters or other groups?

Does it matter what we label them? How about simply criminals for those found guilty?

If the criminals were acting under orders, we should be looking for the ones giving the orders.

Agreed. We are a nation of law and order. No exceptions and no favoritism. Equal Justice under the law.

Yes, but we always need to determine motives and causes. We want to deter as well as punish.
