Emotionalism imo, folks. 300 MILLION firearms in the USA and how few "mass murders" where someone does horrible evil? Sorry, it's more dangerous to be an unborn child in the USA.

Laws keep honest people honest, but should allow honest people to defend themselves from dishonest people.
Actually, we do require gun owners to be responsible adults. If they do not they CAN lose their rights.
You can disagree all you like. It's a matter of basic dictionary definition, though.I disagree.
I do not believe in shooting someone in the head, and in fact in most cases that is illegal. However, if the person was armed ( or a reasonably believed them to be armed I would have no problem shooting them. IF I missed or they ceased being a threat ( but were not deceased) I would also seek medical care for them. As for how I would feel I would have to live with that for life and I would also seek treatment if I felt it was needed. Can I ask you: if someone broke into your home tomorrow could you honestly shoot them in the head in your living room? I don't ask that flippantly and I want you to honestly think about the answer you give. When I watch documentaries about various wars and see interviews with men who had to kill on the battlefield and how it tears them up...and they were actively being shot at by the enemy they ultimately killed, tell me how prepared YOU are to take a human life.
Will you be FAST ENOUGH to respond? Will you KNOW WITH CERTAINTY that deadly force was the only action you could take? And will you sleep well after seeing a human head explode in front of you and splatter the brains all over your living room?
Will you?
I would hate to be in that situation and I'm not entirely certain I would have the wherewithal to do everything right. But I hear my fellow Americans (usually men) daydream about how much like John Wayne they'd be. How rough and tough and steely eyed they'd be. I wonder if they would. And I wonder if they could process the feelings of seeing another human being blown apart in front of them by their own hand.

Uh-huh. Very practical.Mental Illness is caused by evil.... original sin, influence of satan... not by choice though.... but it's either satan or God and God doesn't afflict His followers with such misery.
I oppose a gun registry, but WOULD support a tax that would help with mental health. Then why don't they want to be listed on a registry of gun ownership? Will they be willing to pay a surcharge on all their ammunition purchases to go to a fund to improve mental healthcare in the US? Will they ensure that no guns can be purchased at gun shows without all the attendant paperwork, background checks, registrations, etc.
And tell me why the CDC is forbidden from studying gun death statistics by federal law put forward through the efforts of the NRA?

Correct. Now keep going with that train of thought until you reach the logical conclusion.I did not say that this was the case in this particular situation. I did say that there ARE some evil things that occur that no law would stop. It is a heart issue; even if it WAS a gun issue with 300 MILLION guns around it would be hard to stop there are MANY illegal guns.

It depends on how one one defines a mass shooting.I don't think I've ever heard a human being say America has "few mass murders". Wow.
But a country that somehow simultaneously blathers on about the "sanctity of life" while having among the highest rates of gun homicides of any industrial nation on earth and are unwilling to even think about serious limitations on guns is an amazing thing to behold.
Which is?Correct. Now keep going with that train of thought until you reach the logical conclusion.
-sigh-
So if laws don't stop evil-doers why do we have laws at all?
It depends on how one one defines a mass shooting.
because then you would know who had which guns which means it would ( later) be easier to take them). It has happened before.Good on the second part. But why do you oppose a gun registry?

Well, it does. If we are talking about three people well of course that happens about every day, but if we are talking about 10, 20, 50 people then that is different.Uh huh.
Oh, I believe you can get there, but I'll start you off... if the high number of firearms in the US correlates to the high number of shootings, and you want to REDUCE the number of shootings... then you also need to... REDUCE... what?Which is?
