Proven, huh? May we see this proof?
I'm not here to continue to argue about this.... real media reported the true stats recently. I suppose once you read them you'd then mince it up, not include theater deaths or remove some of the earlier wars or remove some other supposed causes of death.

My caveat: just don't accept everything you hear and read today... forget about political party lines and listen to the rhetoric: it's ALL anti-American, anti-Trump.... that has to have you scratching your head at least? Satan is alive and well on planet earth (I think I read that somewhere ;) ) This is not a battle between you and me, or even political parties, it's one between satan and God; evil vs Good.

Answering my question with more questions is not an answer.

I never said anything about banning guns.

Wait--- agreeing that far too many have died from (all) unnatural causes isn't an answer? Being shot to death, imo, is an unnatural cause.

I was giving the background for how to keep firearm death down.... a solution i.e.mental health support and restrengthen the family. Aren't we asking for solutions in this thread, or is it just a bash America thread
?

There are three factors many who call for banning "guns" fail to admit: suicide and gang violence are the two main causes of death by firearm. Both of them require societal changes in behavior, not material items.
While I obviously agree that interventions targeted at behaviour are good, there is evidence that suggests that the guns really are a problem in relation to suicide:

From a Study published in the New England Journal of Medecince in 2008 (authors = Miller and Hemenway)

The empirical evidence linking suicide risk in the United States to the presence of firearms in the home is compelling. There are at least a dozen U.S. case–control studies in the peer-reviewed literature, all of which have found that a gun in the home is associated with an increased risk of suicide. The increase in risk is large, typically 2 to 10 times that in homes without guns, depending on the sample population (e.g., adolescents vs. older adults) and on the way in which the firearms were stored. The association between guns in the home and the risk of suicide is due entirely to a large increase in the risk of suicide by firearm that is not counterbalanced by a reduced risk of nonfirearm suicide. Moreover, the increased risk of suicide is not explained by increased psychopathologic characteristics, suicidal ideation, or suicide attempts among members of gun-owning households.

The relevant finding: Having a gun in the house is a risk factor for suicide that is not, repeat not, counterbalanced by people using a different means to kill themselves if a gun is not around.

So no, no proof. Understood.

Driving is not a right. Gun ownership ( with certain exceptions) is.

Citizens have a right to have a gun in their home.

Outside the home, society has the responsibility to regulate.

Other than "it's a right because it's a right", why shouldn't this be regulted? I have guns in the house, and they're licensed, registered, and stored very safely. Why shouldn't something similar be mandatory?

And you've reached this conclusion how exactly?
I conclude it from being a Christian and having faith and knowledge of what Sacred Scripture says about evil and demon possession and by observing how extremely evil these mass murders are.

Yep. No way it could be anything like mental illness.

Some people think that what they do voluntarily should be mandatory for others.

Outside the home, society has the responsibility to regulate.
The right to bear arms says no such thing, moreover it IS regulated there are several groups of people that are not permitted to have guns ( even inside their own home ( although it is usually a violation of the 4th amendment to enforce that ( have certain exceptions such as a person currently on parole). There are concealed carry permits. There are laws that forbid shooting a gun in certain places ( firing up in the air).
