There's no way to stop the evil - remember as it is written the evil is growing, increasing, every day until Jesus returns.
No guns would still prevent mass shootings.

I'm a bit lost in that. What are we balancing? What are we tweaking? What had we done since Littleton to prevent similar events? What had we done since Orlando or Kingport?

Balance between doing the best we can without going overboard. Tweak what we have to work with. I actually thought I was very clear there.

What do you suggest we do since Orlando/Kingport? I'm sure they're open to reasonable suggestion....I know I am.

What do we do when any nut case goes berserk? What if he chose to drive a semi into the crowd of people instead?

So? Look up the rate of death caused by doctors. (in the usa)
It is thousands of times higher than terrorists events for the last 20 years.
So. The question was asked how to stop mass shootings. I answered the question. We know the way is take people's gun rights away. Nothing else will work.

If there's "no way to stop evil" it seems odd this particular evil only seems to be a problem in one developed country.

Do NOT draw any conclusions between the fact that the USA has one of the highest rates of gun ownership in the Developed world AND among the highest rate of gun violence in the Developed World. There is NOTHING TO SEE THERE.

It is a COMPLETE MYSTERY why it happens in the US with such frequency. It is probably because we don't yet have 2 guns per every single person in the US.

We've offered MANY MORE PRAYERS and Heartfelt Thoughts for the victims and their families. Isn't that enough??? What more are we supposed to do????

It would also prevent defense, hunting, range time with friends, collecting, firearms related jobs, etc.

Just as countries that have motor vehicles and roads are the only ones that have traffic deaths and injuries.

Or Orlando? Or San Bernardino? Or Columbine? Or Newtown?

Political action? Legal action? Social action? Personal action?

Or should we even bother? Do we simply resign ourselves to going through these motions again in another 6 months or so? Or are we counting on these kinds of incidents to just go away?

Thoughts?

Simple, if you want to prevent another mass shooting stop giving everyone and their grandmother a gun. I have a mental health diagnosis and I can go out and buy a gun in this country, it's ridiculous. Canada has on average three mass shootings a year mostly in the bigger cities. Ottawa had a mass shooting three years ago where Parliament Hill got shot up. Here in the US however there are mass shootings every single day. Why? Because, we let ANYONE go out and buy a gun regardless if they're criminals, mentally ill, or just plain wacko let's give them a gun. There's no gun control in this country at all and then we're shocked when a school gets shot up or a local Walmart gets shot up and then we wonder why. If they didn't let anyone own a gun there would be a lot less shootings. But, we can't do that It's too logical and people would complain because they have to have their precious guns. After all It's one of the amendments to the constitution .

I think at the heart of it, this is ultimately a spiritual problem, produced in a world where there is no foundation to the belief that anything has any real value, outside of what our personal idiosyncrasies may or may not be willing to ceded to anything, even ourselves and other people.
Being created in the image of God, and therefore every human creature being from its conception to its natural end of a Divine nature is no longer believed or taught.

Scientific materialism teaches us that we are meat. For people who have become totally unconnected to society, this is what meat looks like.
It bleed a lot.

Australia is less religious then the U.S. in fact plenty of European Countries with much harsher Gun Control is less religious.

There's absolutely no correlation between religion and less mass shootings in a country.

Scientific materialism teaches us that we are meat. For people who have become totally unconnected to society, this is what meat looks like.
It bleed a lot.

It really doesn't.

Just so long as we also agree that things like the travel ban are equally useless, I'm on board.

So what you're saying is it's the inanimate object that is dangerous not the person who wields/operates it???

So what's your proposed solution?

Who says we need a solution???

Progressivism: The silliest way known to man to deal with life. First you create solutions to problems that don’t exist, thereby creating a problem where none existed before which then means you have to find a solution to that problem you just created…

A gun makes a person, even a child, dangerous. Far less dangerous than they are without. I wouldn't be very afraid of someone attempting to rob me, even with a knife, but a gun is a game changer.
