So no, no proof. Understood.
We will never know but there are cases where the answer is literally NOTHING.So what WOULD have, in your esteemed opinion?
So no actual evidence, then?
If it "requires faith" it's not evidence. There is evidence. But it requires faith. Are you an atheist?

Don't you believe the actions of the gunman were evil?
Yes, and no amount of laws in the world will stop evil.Don't you believe the actions of the gunman were evil?
Strange the US is the only developed country where this is a regular problem, then. 20 years since the last mass shooting in Australia. We will never know but there are cases where the answer is literally NOTHING.
Yep. No way it could be anything like mental illness.
I disagree. If it "requires faith" it's not evidence.
I did not say that this was the case in this particular situation. I did say that there ARE some evil things that occur that no law would stop. It is a heart issue; even if it WAS a gun issue with 300 MILLION guns around it would be hard to stop there are MANY illegal guns.Strange the US is the only developed country where this is a regular problem, then. 20 years since the last mass shooting in Australia.
Faith by definition is believing that which cannot be seen.I disagree.

Laws keep honest people honest, but should allow honest people to defend themselves from dishonest people.Let's take a look at some of the laws that are already in place that didn't stop him:
It's illegal to murder.
It's illegal to discharge a firearm in the city limits of Las Vegas.
It's against hotel policy to bring firearms into the hotel where he was staying.
Did these laws work? Some people think we need just one more law.

and yet that same city has some of the highest gun crime. Why keep bringing Australia into this? If you must, why not compare Chicago, which also has a no firearm law with Australia... and give a better solution to implementing a no firearm law...oh wait!...
The problem isn't "GUNS" it's HUMANS and their evil hearts that know not GOD.
Actually, we do require gun owners to be responsible adults. If they do not they CAN lose their rights.-sigh-
So if laws don't stop evil-doers why do we have laws at all?
No, the problem is we don't ask gun owners to act like responsible adult humans. They, through the magic of NRA money, have somehow gotten a free pass to act like all rules are too many rules.
When the NRA was able to get it made ILLEGAL for the CDC to study gun violence based statistics we knew exactly what the game was.
The ONLY reason to NOT study something is if one knows that what is found will NOT be to their liking.
There is more than one kind of evidence.Faith by definition is believing that which cannot be seen.
