i do not agree with everything she teaches

but i have admit, she seem to really understand problems most Christians faces incl worrying, self esteem , wrong ungodly thinking and forgiveness, and she has this gift of preach in a way that make you see God words in a whole new different light and help you understand how to implement them

some of her teachings really helped me a lot.

People rarely agree with 100% of what anyone (especially pastors :) ) say-But like you I have heard many people speak of receiveing help from her teaching-so to anyone listening to ANY pastor I say:

"Take what you like and leave the rest"

Use whatever tool is available to make you a better person and "do not be easily offended" if every now and then the same speaker says something perhaps you differ with a bit :)

I never gave a cent to her ministry.

Let's ignore that the RCC murdered, tortured and took peoples rights because they had some good things to say.

And let us not say that the WoF preachers are pyramid scheme promoters because they too have some good things to say.

You sound just like her ;)
Hey, I's nearly nearly an expert.

Actually s, I had a 'frozen shoulder' for over a year. and there WAS some
unforgiveness in my heart that I didn't realize.
Yes, I recall you saying that. Wouldn't necessarily link those matters tho.
I was walking in love towards the person I'd felt negatively about and that
very night in bed, God healed my shoulder.
This was last month. So ... maybe there's something to that stuff :holy: May want to forgo the mocking
regardless of how YOU feel about her.
God might not share your hatred.
Just a thought.

I'm pretty certain God is not in favor of pyramid schemes or murder/torture/elimination of human rights.

But they do have a lot of money and nice clothes so maybe we should listen obey and pay? Or consider them free entertainment?

I've found he rarely hates my enemies ..and so I end up changing my
mind rather than asking Him to change His.
Who said they were enemies? Certainly not I.

My mother was raised Pentecostal Holiness, married my Catholic dad, and brought us up in the Baptist church. When questioned about the logic she use to tell me, "Son, there is good and bad wherever you go." This is true. I don't think there is a perfect church in all the earth.

My Grandmother had almost the same saying and did almost the same with her children except Gramps was a Quaker.

I’m non-denominational. As a child I was in the local Pentecostal church. I have been to services in several other denominations including Baptist, Brethren, Anglican, Methodist and others. As Christians we have a lot in common, much more than we have differences. I also see the vital importance of guarding against heresy.

I have nothing against Joyce Meyer’s philosophical teachings and maybe they do help some people. However we need to be aware of the real dangers and casualties of the underlying false doctrines and heresy. I am restrained from saying more because I do not want to offend others.

I will comment on one of the points already mentioned. My saviour took the keys of death and hell and made them an open show leading captivity captive. He did NOT suffer torment of demons in hell and need to be born again before he was resurrected. This shows a serious misunderstanding of the blood covenant on which our salvation is based and won. Jesus was the sinless Son of God, tempted on every point yet without sin. He did NOT take our sin and die as a sinner in the fashion of these manmade doctrines. He became sin for us (NOT A SINNER).

Joyce Meyers will be speaking at Joel Osteen's Lakewood church this weekend (Sat and Sun). You can watch it live online. Ya reckon the pope will be there too?

Welp, I guess that confirms it. Why would Joyce Meyer be a part of anything related to Joel Osteen?

Ephesians 5:6
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.

Ephesians 5:11
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.

2 Corinthians 6:14
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols?

Joyce Meyers is not a pastor. A pastor is someone who leads a congregation of people. That Joyce Meyers does not. Wilkipedia correctly describes her as a "Charismatic Christian author and speaker. "

Still she teaches men and this is expressly forbidden by the letters of St. Paul.

If there is any doubt that these people are selling others a PYRAMID SCHEME in the 'Name of God' let's just make sure that's what it is.

Is there such a legitimate animal as A CHRISTIAN PYRAMID SCHEME?

Uh, no. No more than there are legitimate Christian 'Infallible' organizations who murder, torture and take rights away from people.

Does Joyce M. claim that God promises to multiply the MONEY SEED of anyone who sows into her ministry?

Uh, duh. Almost every last one of these charlatans makes that claim.

If that WERE truthful everyone on the planet would be not only donating but WEALTHY.

Their pitch is in essence nothing more than a petty PYRAMID SCHEME with a Christian brand attached for supposed legitimacy.

Usually the 'multiplication factor is 10 times your donated money. That seems to be a consistent 'verifiable legitimate promise' from Gods Word...

sure...

Believers can be so ignorant can't they?

IF there was a little round face emoticon puking I'd insert it right here

X________

Ya hate to see people have to go through this, but it is what it is.

Getting a 10 fold return on donated $ is nothing other than a MAGICAL SUPERSTITION. People deserve what they get if that's what they believe.

s

Almost every other pyramid scheme has been made illegal despite clever workarounds. This must be one of the only ways to skirt around the law and make vast amounts of money from vulnerable people. The leaders of these schemes are being made very, very rich from deceiving people. I wonder, do they ever consider that one day they will be required to give an account before God, for their actions.

It is alarming and disturbing that they still get away with such disgraceful behaviour. The appeals for money have been banned by law in the UK from being broadcast on television or radio. TBN get around this by up linking their satellite broadcast from Spain, to avoid UK law. The God channel has also abandoned its very expensive UK uplink station to rebuild abroad, so now they have constant appeals for money from pyramid scheme prosperity preachers.

This is all politics and big, big money from shameful exploitation of the faith of sincere Christians.

No wish to offend but its rather more than simple good and bad in all churches.

The Joyce Meyer Ministry takes in a great deal of money. She travels in a private jet and has several multimillion dollar homes. "While Meyer's previous salary is unknown, a recent series of investigative articles in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch revealed Meyer's ministry purchased for Joyce and Dave a $2 million home, a $10 million private jet, and houses worth another $2 million for the couple's children, who also work for the ministry. The articles also outlined Meyer's recent personal purchases, including a $500,000 vacation home. Meyer, 60, lives in Fenton, Missouri, near St. Louis." From a source dated 1/1/2004 (Nearly 10 years ago).

Joyce Meyer said "sometimes, people criticize me for being so rich. They tell me Jesus said not to store up riches on earth (Matt 6:19-21). But I know that doesn’t apply to me. I've gone beyond that. You see I’m living my reward now. I’ve come to the place where I can love the things of this world (1 John 2:15-17) and still have the love of God in my heart at the same time."

I am offended at her attack on my savior and on the victory that he won on the cross. Jesus is author and mediator of the new covenant sealed by blood covenant.

Well these are only SOME of the many, many reasons why I will not be watching:
Jesus stopped being the Son of God at one point on the cross
Jesus had to be born again
Jesus paid for our sins in the torment of hell
Jesus went to hell in our place and was tormented by demons
If you don't believe Jesus went to hell as an ordanary man and sinner, you cannot be saved
Joyce Meyer said she is not a sinner
The host of hell were literally on Jesus and were laughing

NO, NO, NO, simply not scriptural.
See how serious and deceptive the heresy’s are emerging.

There is no shortage of various heresies in the WoF movement aka the anything for a buck movement.

When people don't bother to do their own homework they'll believe just about anything.

Way back when I was willing to give her the time of day, I enjoyed her brassy style, but never for more than 15 minutes at a time, & she has some "folksy" ways & tales that are entertaining, but reading a John Gill commentary, I found to be more interesting & informative.

what do people here think of Joyce Meyer?

No more different than I think of Joel Olsteen. Both of them would make a cute couple :)

The pope races from the plane to catch the next sermon of Joel Olsteen and Joyce Meyer :)

The only public Christian figures I know in history that are totally free from evil are the John Wesley Methodist between the time of 1730 and 1900. Even men like DL Moody and Ira Sankey were criticized by the English for making money off their publications (Ira Sankey had mastered a very popular hymnal during the time).

No, mam.
Been about 12 years since I watched more than three minutes of anything mainstream or popular, unless a video here in the forum. I went online in 2000 and discovered Reform Theology. The canons of Dordt seem to clarify & declutter Pelagian/Arminian traditions without presenting all the evidence of history about when & where the tares of Churchianity were planted among the wheatfield of the Body of Christ (the real & only "one true" church).

How 'bout you, brin? You heard her lately? Has she mellowed out?
Have you seen her jet?;)

Oh, wait! Her testimony. Yeah, she was horribly abused. Moving story for sure.
S'whattabout what she's accused here of sayin'? You heard any of that? Whaddowe DO with that? I mean, there was no citation, but I'm heavily negatively biased against WOF because of what I learned personaly, & heard & read about them. I shy away from supernatural stuff that's pretty "iffy". So that's a reason I'm willin' to believe she said that stuff.

Have you heard her entire testimony from beginning to end? Including when her parents got elderly? I had stopped watching her, but resumed a month or two ago. I have seen God's grace working in her as she speaks on stage. Most recently she is speaking on the "fruits of the Spirit" and "holiness" "giving" and "forgiving".
