this place cracks me up. As for the OP, I think little "on" Joyce. I listen to her when I can (don't get it on tv up here)...she is a good woman and has done alot of good. I don't agree with all her theology, kinda like I don't agree with others people theology either.

As for her money, some of you sound like my family. They moan and groan that my husband and I are fairly well off (he makes over 100K a year most goes to taxes), while they prefer to live in an economically depressed area with no hope of moving up. YET, they will sit back and point their finger and complain, because my husband bettered himself. SO Joyce has alot of money. WHO cares. She is helping the poor and reaching out to the needy. Are any of the "complainers" here doing that? NO? Well, where is your theology on helping the poor??

Your husband payes taxes. Big $ is scored here in the U.S. by these ministries dumping their funds into tax free not for profit corporations who then 'spend' money on personal items for these people, like houses or cars or trips or extravagant furnishings or high dollar clothes/jewelry etc etc. as ministerial costs with TAX FREE CASH. I doubt your husband or you have that privilege nor do most 'taxpayers' here.

It is quite the scam actually. Perfectly legal, of course.

The fact is however that Joyce does have some tidy little heresies that she packs in with her delivery of good stuff. And people who are not aware of these 'brainwashing' techniques will get scammed and they will also end up with various heresy implants that they will pick up.

But every sect practices these techniques knowingly or unknowingly.

The Mormons for example have similar techniques. They have a boat load of 'this is truth, that is truth' and they take all these crumbs of truth and as the people follow each bread crumb of truth along the trail they eventually look up and find out they have come to the house of the wicked witch.

Sound familar? The methodology is as old as humanity.

I know. Have used similar methods countless times in my worldly business. That is also why I don't hook as easily.

I have no reason to offend you but this thread is about asking for opinions.

Ad hominemis is not the way to make your point. Also it’s not about how much money she has it’s about how she acquired it.

Maybe Joyce should preach “don’t give me any money, give it to the poor?”

You'd think that these points would be understood by all these armchair critics as being so obvious that they wouldn't need to be spelled out.

I agree with you nobody is perfect.
It’s not her preaching style, attitude or perfection that concerns me. There are other prosperity gospel and televangelists doing exactly the same thing. It’s the serious heresies that concern me; they are an attack on the saviour. Lies and unscriptural truths about the atoning death on the cross. That is a very serious matter.
It is another gospel, not the gospel of the bible.
Can anyone achieve perfection in this lifetime?

What was the "other Gospel" Galatian 1:8,9?

"perfect"
occurs 61 times in 56 verses in the NKJV

Jhn 17:23 I in them and Thou in Me, that they may be perfected into one,
and that the world may know that Thou didst send Me, and didst love them as Thou didst love Me.

Rev 3:2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die,
for I have not found thy works perfect before God.

It was a ridiculous comparison.

A. her husband pays taxes
B. her husband more than likely doesn't earn his $ by preaching in tax free bux.
C. her husband more than likely does not broadcast heresy seeds to the populace using tax free donations.

I disagree and consider your rebuttal to be ridiculous.

The tax issue is valid and belief in hell is not a "heresy."

Never said the tax issue was an issue, but her comparison of her husbands $ to Joyce's is not an equal comparison is it?

There is no question she promotes heresy.
And believing in hell is no heresy.

Habakk gave a decent summary of her basic heresies.

And I'm still waiting for the evidence that she "promotes" them in her telecasts.

(As a hint, it helps if the person making the charges has actually watched them.)

I spent many years in WoF and know both their heresies and their methodologies quite sufficiently, thank you.

Rubber stamp okey dokey all you please.

They have a right to their opinion just as I do.

Never said it wasn't LEGAL.

and I never mentioned LEGAL

Here, I think Joyce has a word for you:
You Tube?

That's the extent of your insight--You Tube?

I have only "two" words for you then:

BAHN JOOR!

That aside, what exactly are you referring to? It''s not helpful when anyone throws out a ten minute video as his answer to a specific question and says "Here. watch this."

(audio clip) Joyce Meyer,

“The Devil thought he had it, the devil thought he had won. Oh they were having the biggest party that has ever been had. They had my Jesus on the floor and they were standing on his back jumping up and down laughing and he had become sin. Don’t you think that God was pacing wanting to put a stop to what was going on. All the hosts of hell were up on him, up on him, up on him. The angels are in agony, all the creation is groaning. All the hosts of hell was up on him, up on him, they got on him. They got him down in the floor and got on him and they were laughing and mocking, “haha you trusted God and look where you ended up. You thought he would save you and get you off that cross – he didn’t haha

The only funny thing about the above is IT'S ENTIRELY IMAGINARY.

ha ha. Pretty funny Joyce! Word? Uh, no.

Excuse me, but where's the heresy? Not in such common language, to be sure, but I've heard dozens of very orthodox, mainline pastors deliver almost that same lesson.

(audio clip), Joyce Meyer “He could have helped himself up until the point where he said I commend my spirit into your hands, at that point he couldn’t do nothing for himself anymore. He had become sin, he was no longer the Son of God. He was sin.”

Oh yeah, I just luv that little gem, don't you?

Hallelujah Jesus.

I find it interesting that the religion of Judaism has no concept of the type of "hell" that is depicted in mainstream Christianity and in the religion of Islam.

http://www.christianforums.com/t7491713/
Judaism and Hell

This parable in Luke 16 is rather interesting, as it is the only place, outside of the book of Revelation, that shows a person in torments by "fire".
This parable was spoken to the Jews [and religious rulers who heard it]

Lazarus and the Rich Man - Here a little, there a little - Commentary

The parable of Lazarus and the rich man has been the foundation for many of the erroneous beliefs about "hell" within traditional Christianity. Some have viewed it not as a parable, but as a true story Yeshua told to give details about the punishment of sinners in hell.
Yet a thorough, unbiased examination of this story will show that the generally accepted interpretations of this passage of Scripture are erroneous and misleading. In this article, we will go through the parable verse by verse to determine what the Messiah was truly teaching......................

the enemy and his minions DID think they won as Jesus was suffering and dying for us. God had turned His back on His only begotten Son when He became sin for us. That's why Jesus cried out to God, asking why He had forsaken Him.
