my challenge was to show something can have both a physical age, and an existential age.
Thus the earth could be 4.7 billion years old, but it has only been in existence since 4004 BC.
We see this in Genesis 2 "
4 These
are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
"These are the generations" "in the day". How are you going to explain the generations that take place in a day? Can you do that or are you just going to bait and switch and say it means something other than what we are told?
Time is relative.
- Relativity Theory: Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity revolutionized our understanding of time. According to the theory, time is not an absolute quantity but is relative to the observer’s motion and gravitational field. The famous equation (E=mc^2) demonstrates the equivalence of mass and energy, emphasizing the interconnectedness of space, time, and matter.
The earth rotates at 1,000 miles an hour. Did you know we are going that fast? Yet the Earth rotates the sun at 20 miles per second.
The solar system orbits the center of the Milky Way galaxy at an average speed of 230 kilometers per second (km/s), or 828,000 kilometers per hour (km/h), which is about 143 miles per second (mi/s) or 514,000 miles per hour (mph). This speed is about 1/1300 of the speed of light.
Everything is relative. Just as we are all related. In fact we share many common ancestors.
Using her grandfather”s genealogy database, BridgeAnne d”Avignon, 12, a seventh grade student at Monte Vista Christian School in Watsonville has found that every president, except eighth president Martin Van Buren, is descended from King John of England.
