Notice Jesus does not teach that

While the term hermeneutics (the study of interpretation, especially of biblical texts) wasn't used during Jesus' time, He did engage in activities that involved interpreting and explaining Scriptures.
For example, Jesus often referred to and interpreted Old Testament passages to explain His teachings and to show how He fulfilled prophecies. One notable instance is in Luke 24:27, where, after His resurrection, Jesus explained to the disciples on the road to Emmaus how the Scriptures pointed to Him:
"And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning Himself."
In this sense, Jesus was certainly involved in what we might consider hermeneutics today.

Big difference....... Jesus did not come up with nor ever repeat false teaching as most do for centuries now. The tools used by so-called 'scholars' and the 'system' of religion are most often used to keep souls unsaved away from even seeking salvation in Jesus. Self-promotion is seemingly 'the norm'..... not good revelation from above.

Are humans still in government today ? .... or even for the last 100 years ?
Some? Few? A mix ?
Man's government ?

God's Kingdom Instead Separate from the world , not of the world ?
Wow - I hardly know where to begin.
Try Subjects and Citizens by Michael Jensen. That should be a good primer.

This is way off topic. This is not a theology forum - but the general public. Please calm down - and maybe take it to the Christian political forums rather than here?

We've never played with technology like this and don't know what to expect.
We are going through a transition from the church age to the kingdom age. Of course the church has known this was going to happen for 2000 years. Only we are the generation that actually is seeing this transition take place.

It is amazing how 2,000 years ago Paul was speaking to us today. Lots of the Bible talks about the time we are living in right now. As we go from one age to the next age. Just like the early church went though a transition in their day and time.

A lot of the signs are manufactured by industry and the media however. So continuing to watch for more genuine signs is also a good idea.

That is why we are to be taught by the Holy Spirit of God.

John 14:26 (NIV):

"But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."

Jeremiah 31:33-34 No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, 'Know the LORD,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest," declares the LORD.

Please take that to the End times forum as it is inappropriate here. Also - as a Covenant Amil - I totally disagree. But that's not for this forum. Thanks!

Bang The Drum All Day, Todd Rundgren (1983)
When I was a freshman in college, a guy in my dorm played this song every day. Beyond that, all he did was sit in the common room and watch Star Trek reruns. He soon flunked out. I sometimes wonder where he is now ... probably selling AI to the ignorant masses.

I know many think of escaping work because they hate what they're doing, but I enjoy work. I've had awful jobs, but I've also been blessed with some very good ones. So, in a post-scarcity world I'd shut AI out of my life as much as possible and continue to explore the beauty I see in the world God created.

It might redefine our notion of 'dominion' over creation. For instance - what if we could fire a few dozen Starships out to the asteroid belt, where decades later we find that their mix of droids have built factories, mined the asteroids, and grown exponentially. Maybe there are now O'Neil Cylinders (8km wide & 32 km long) - like islands in space. (Or even continent sized versions if ASI figures out how to make carbon-nano-tube versions.) What if some of these had oceans in for 'whales in space'? Now that's conservation!

I see a massive fleet of tens of thousands of super-sized fusion tugs shipping CO2 ice from Titan to Mars. They would smash it into the poles at high velocity - warming the planet up. We'd need more nitrogen shipped in from Venus as well. If they aim it carefully enough, there could even be humans living in cities on Mars in the centuries it would take to warm the planet up and give it an atmosphere. Park a huge magnet at the Mars Lagrange point - and it would give Mars a magnetosphere to protect the fragile new atmosphere from the solar wind. People would eventually be protected from cosmic rays just by the atmosphere itself. We could one day have a whole new planet to backup every species we care about!

But over to you. What would you do? What are your hopes and fears?
I would love it because I'm a little lazy what I'm waiting for is droid to do the lawn because I'm not getting any younger. I don't fear tech because it's the future and nothing will stop it. But I do realize we do pollute and ingest harmful substances like microplastics from water bottles for our convenience. Thx Nithavela:

America's Drinking Water Problem - PFAS

From a Christian point of view, I watch tech for two reasons:

The two witnesses say ALL tribes and nations will see them lying in the streets. We don't have that tech yet.

Rev 11:8
And their bodies will lie in the main street of Jerusalem,[fn] the city that is figuratively called “Sodom” and “Egypt,” the city where their Lord was crucified.

Rev 11:9
And for three and a half days, all peoples, tribes, languages, and nations will stare at their bodies. No one will be allowed to bury them.

The second one is our ability to buy or sell we don't have that capability yet. CBDC might be the start of this but it will take a long time to do away with all the other forms of currency.

Rev 13:17

And no one could buy or sell anything without that mark, which was either the name of the beast or the number representing his name.

This is not really the End Times forum - but I can see why thoughts like this would come up in this thread. So instead of discussing all that in here - I put this link in to where I show why Revelation does not feature in my thinking about the future - but about life now - and indeed the last 2000 years. Cheers!

Ok. I didn't want to make this about religion those two examples were how I feel technology has to improve to do what those verses say. Peace out

I'm a simple man and I read the bible like my forefather did with the HS not all this tech. I hate the Christian arguments more than the political ones. I see a bunch of Christians telling each other they are believing wrong and I won't participate but I do like reading some and I will read some on your thread.
