We all know that smoking tobacco is very harmful to the lungs, apparently half of all smokers die due to smoking related diseases.

People thought vaping was safer but that appears not to be the case.

My husband and I have never smoked, and have never permitted anyone to smoke in our home. I am so very grateful none of our close family smoke.

I'm very skeptical of anecdotal evidence like this. We have no way of knowing exactly what the British teenager was doing that might've contributed to his problems. All we have to go on is his word. Considering the credibility of the modern news media (specifically, the lack thereof), I'm not prepared to assume this story has been fully vetted or is even trustworthy.

Question:
Does the UK allow vaping products to be sold to those under 18?
If not, and considering he was 16 y/o at the time, one can assume he was getting his e-liquid from nefarious (unregulated) sources.

It's interesting that they seldom, if ever, ask those who fall ill and report where they got their liquid from.

People should not only give up smoking tobacco but not indulge in vaping either.

It should be illegal to smoke in the home if children are present as passive smoking can cause a lot of harm.

Separately, not all vape juices are created equal. Some of the garbage coming out of China probably is risky while other juices are perfectly safe.

Far too many conclusions are being drawn about vaping in general based on incomplete information. Call me paranoid but I can't help thinking at least some of this is being fueled by Big Tobacco, who have lost their collective shirt in the last several years as people switch to vaping over conventional tobacco cigarettes.

Here in the UK it is illegal to smoke tobacco products in public places, I hope they making vaping illegal too.

Another unpleasant thing about vaping is the amount of smoke it produces. Some months ago my husband saw a lot of smoke coming from our next door neighbour's garden. It was only when the smell hit us we realised the young chap was vaping, they didn't have a fire!

My husband and I have never smoked, and have never permitted anyone to smoke in our home. I am so very grateful none of our close family smoke.

I don't smoke, I HATE the whole smoking thing... the smell, what it does to the body, etc. etc. etc. But, in the US we have a run right now in the media concerning the harmful effects of vaping. While I do NOT think it is healthy at all... just about every person who has died to date, has died inhaling homemade, usually THC laced, juice.

It isn't smoke... if you smelled smoke it wasn't vaping and if he told you that he lied. Vaping is just that, vapor... water. It might have a hint of tobacco or whatever it might be flavored with, but it won't be strong if you were a yard away and won't be smoke.

Why?

It was a less unhealthy alternative to tobacco cigarettes. My addiction to nicotine is very real. Vaping is a less harmful way of handling the matter.

Plus, I can vape just about anywhere. Or at least, I can vape in places where hypochondriacs who think they're allergic to water haven't ruined things anyway.
