  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

There is a possibility that my skin has adapted to highly acidic environment.

Literally impossible.

My sweat during a 6 hr gruelling bike ride outdoors will visibly dissolve aluminum like the bare aluminum frame of my bicycle. I used to do such rides every weekend. Not anymore due to time constraints. But still do shorter outdoor workouts every weekends in similar conditions.

I remember my sweat in those conditions smelled much like muriatic acid on my skin and phone screen and it formed a very persistent liquid film on my phone's screen that is very difficult to wipe off even with dry cloth. It produced fumes that caused eye and breathing irritation.

All human sweat can dissolve aluminum in enough quantities because aluminum is weak to salt which is a major component of human sweat. Does not mean that your body is resistant to acids, especially ones like muriatic and hydrocholoric acid.

I also never use soap when bathing, just water and small towel to rub my skin. Probably kept my skin PH low (acidic). Low PH means weaker reaction to acid. My skin just looks better without soap and smells better for longer too.

That's just gross.

You mean that I'm born with acid-resistant skin? I'm assuming you didn't mean that it's impossible for humans to have acid-resistant skin. You saw the video yourself.

I used to perform electrolysis using brine and aluminum electrodes.

I'm sure brine can corrode aluminum but I never observed a strong reaction without passing current. Perhaps, if I watched it for several days, I'll see something. The reaction with my sweat is similar to muriatic acid with the liquid turning gray with dissolved metal after just a short period.

That's just gross.
That's your experience, not mine.

It is impossible to have acid resistant skin against the truly strong corrosive acids like hydrochloric acid but against weaker acids it can be washed off without major concern.

Strong acids, concentrated acids, break down the cells and cause cell death and tissue damage, which is why acid attack victims need skin grafts afterwards.

Since brine is salt and salt is corrosive to aluminum... I don't see why that wouldn't work, but it sounds like some sort of metal poisoning if you water you touch is turning grey with dissolved metal from your body.

That's your experience, not mine.

I'm just calling it as I see it.

You saw the video. The reaction to concrete, steel, and aluminum is instantaneous and strong. Yet no effect on my skin, not even a puff of steam.

If you consider muriatic acid as one of the "weaker acids" then you see my point, the warnings are way over the top.

It should work after many days, weeks, months, years.

My sweat corrodes aluminum a lot faster and visibly within just minutes. I doubt it's saltier than brine but my sweat sometimes smells like muriatic acid and also causing breathing and eye irritation.

I'm just calling it as I see it.
In other words, just your personal opinion. Not based on first-hand experience

Hang on... hang on.... the entire basis for this conspiracy and thread... is just because the acid didn't immediately eat through your skin like the acid blood of the Xenomorph from the Alien franchise?

Buddy... that's not how acid works.

You're barking at the wrong tree.

Tell that to those who wrote the warnings on muriatic acid!

If you want to know how acid works on human skin, just watch my video again in case you forgot already.

But they don't say "Instantaneous contact with acid will dissolve skin" though.

Or there's also this video here which shows that no acid instantaneously begins to eat away at flesh or meat:

It takes time for acid to dissolve flesh and meat because the make up of flesh and meat is entirely different to metal and plastics and glass.

Your entire conspiracy, your entire thought process, is wrong. The warnings to wash acid spilled onto skin immediately is not wrong, because if left unchecked, it WILL dissolve whatever part of the human body it has come into contact with. That is a provable fact.

Steak + Lye + time --> meat scented soap. Fabulous. (Note to self: a new product for the manosphere??)

You couldn't force me to buy it, mainly for fear of being attacked by every dog I meet, but I would be curious to know what that smells like too.

It's contradictory to the testimonials of acid attack victims from an earlier link you gave me.

Here's an earlier post of yours with that link:
Look up 'acid burn testimonials' on Google.

You have clearly not done any actual research yourself and I am really getting worried that you are going to hurt yourself by doing something stupid by following this incredibly dumb line of logic.

Perhaps, growth hormones and preservatives in steak meat also preserved it longer against those acids?

After all, the process of decomposition involves acids and if preservatives are designed to prevent or delay decomposition of meat, then it probably enhance acid resistance of meat as well. Some preservatives even make meat acidic to help inhibit bacteria growth and if the meat is acidic in the first place, reaction to strong acids will be weaker.

Who would have thought right?

What a weird thread.

Battery acid at 25% does not hurt my hands much for intermittent contact, its the sensitive skin under the fingernails that hurt.

Acid damage to humans tends to be an exponential relationship to the concentration.

Pure hcl gas will kill your lungs immediatly.
99% SA will light your cloths and flesh on fire.

30 percent hcl? Dont try to kill yourself drinking it. Might not work.

Did not hurt the skin under my fingernails either with muriatic acid. The acid felt just like water.

Ofc, if I had a break in my skin, that would be a different story. The skin is a well designed protective barrier from commonly encountered chemicals from the environment. Without that protective barrier, you're exposed to the full potency of harmful chemicals.
