In order not to lose this war together with the Ukrainians, the US should:

1) provide weapons that do not require a large number of soldiers, possibly robots;
2) hire English-speaking pilots for the F-16 and give Ukraine at least 150 such aircraft with pilots;
3) arrange peace talks with various compromises. It is unacceptable for Russia for Ukraine to join NATO and the EU, meaning to agree to this compromise. It is unacceptable for the US for Russia to seize new territories, meaning to find a compromise on these issues, so that Russia itself gives up these territories in exchange for security guarantees;
4) block the channels of financing Ukrainian right-wing radicals by the international mafia, since this plays into the hands of the war party in Russia. Ensure that human rights are respected in Ukraine (this is now more realistic than ever - the Ukrainian government now listens to those who give money, and the US gives the most money).

Of all the above, the most important thing is peace negotiations and forcing Ukraine to comply with the principles of democracy and human rights, from which, under the pretext of war, Ukraine began to gradually retreat and Forcing Russia by political and economic measures to renounce captured territories.

Rejection of the military path as unpromising!

I closely follow the life of the residents of Ukraine from Russia.
My sister in law in Russian and spent half her life in Ukraine. I'll put her and her families experience above your 'following'.

These are the territories that Russia voluntarily gave up in 1991.

On the one hand, Russia acted dishonestly, it first gave up these territories voluntarily (in my opinion, so as not to share the income from gas and oil with them), and then began to annex them by military means.

On the other hand, Russia explains this by the fact that it gave these territories to sovereign states on the terms of a friendly attitude towards Russia, like the British Commonwealth: Great Britain, Canada, Australia, India, etc. Now they say that they expected from the CIS - a commonwealth of states friendly to Russia, like the British Commonwealth. When these states began to befriend Russia's enemies, they then brought them back by force. That's how the Russians explain it.

And what are they doing in Russia? Are they hiding in bomb shelters from missiles like the Ukrainians? Has each of them already killed lost relatives, friends and good acquaintances? Has their or their loved ones' homes already been destroyed? Are they being forced into cars by recruiters of territorial army recruitment centers in handcuffs?

What kind of horrors does she tell about life in Russia?

It only understands force.
That Russia understands only force is both yes and no at the same time.

On the one hand, if there are no forces or weapons at all, then Russia does not take such countries and their sovereignty seriously.

On the other hand, they are so proud that it is impossible to convince them with force alone. They need to be given a minimally acceptable option in negotiations. They need to get some benefit other than not having force used against them. Otherwise they won't agree and they will threaten to burn the whole world in nuclear ashes.

You said that there was no annexation since 1945. I have showed you how that is completely false.

You understand the Moscow based population of Russia are insulated from being conscripted or suffering the depredations of war? There is no horror for the people in Moscow. Do you even live there?

And stamp it's feet and cry and wail and never use nuclear weapon because even Mr Putin knows better than to do that. Only an insane man in a death spiral would do that.
