And it inevitably entraps legal immigrants as well. look at the number of Americans whose parents are from Mexico finding that their birth certificates are being challenged due to the use of mid wives, and a scandal that occurred decades ago. On the subject of migrants species taking over and people trying to stop their spread one has to only look at the Eastern Grey Squirrel that was introduced to Europe post WW2 where they outcompete (and carry a disease which doesn't really effect them, but is deadly to) the native Eurasian Red Squirrel in England, Wales and Ireland (Scotland being relatively safe as there are fewer deciduous (and more conifer) trees, as well as Pine Martens (viscious little predator - same family as weasels that don't really bother with Reds but will eat the bigger Greys. As it stands three quarters of the Red population of the British Isles are in Scotland.

The campaign to stop the spread of Greys has been going on for twenty years.

Well if you can’t provide multiple items of identification(only some accepted by govt) since birth(that no one else is required to have saved) then yes. Seriously imagine if on applying for a passport you are asked for specific documentation from birth apart from your birth certificate? Do you have records of all hospital checks ups? Etc.

Those cases of fraud were proven...not speculation. Before the 2009 settlement, the government had tried and convicted like 68 (I think) "midwives" on 15,000 cases. That's a rather large amount of fraud for so few people.

Denying someone a passport isn't the same as charging them with fraud. It's more like denying a driver's license. Passports are considered a privilege, not a right.

Yea, I have a medical record extending back to my birth in a hospital....this includes vaccinations and check ups and the like. Moreover, I would have evidence of my parents being citizens (I know where they were born) and there is tax/work records of them the year I was born.

I could probably wrangle all that up in 1-2 weeks.

I don't know of any American citizens who were "stripped of their rights". As for the midwives, if I had to guess, I'd say probably none or very few actual babies were delivered. These women all worked the same smuggling corridor known as Rio Grande Valley, and it seems pretty unlikely that was a coincidence. This was an organized fraud network, where illegals could bring their infants across the border, and for a price they could buy their child a birth certificate. Then all they have to do is start using that child to milk the system.

What's your position here? That the government shouldn't investigate fraud? That even if they suspect your birth certificate is fraudulent, they should hand you a passport and food stamps?
