Mr Trump says he knew it could be horrible but wanted to give people (false) hope.

He might have been told that but clearly he did not believe it.

Otherwise he would have chosen less hoax speeches that people are rubbing his face in now.

I believe he wanted to give people hope so his precious stock market wouldn’t melt down and it is always nicer to give good news.

That he threw away his one chance to be an actual statesman for once instead of populist is regrettable.

Has his inaction caused avoidable deaths?

Of course it has. Compare the US infection and death rates with any other Western country.

And he needs to get his story straight (if that’s at all possible for an inveterate liar). On the one hand, he claims that his impeachment distracted him from being aware of the epidemic. Now he claims that he “knew everything”...

Such a fake...

He has the sentence structure of a 3rd grader...
Careful. You could be sued for libel. Third graders could take out a class action suit against you.

No. But thanks for inquiring of us Americans who are the people closest to the issue.

So far more Americans have died of Coronavirus than died in 9/11. Trump himself is now saying 100-200,000 deaths would be a 'good' outcome. Want to explain how this isn't Trump's fault, when the likes of South Korea and seemingly China appear to have avoided anything like these kind of rates despite having much less warning?

Since the extent to which any action or inaction in this crisis has increased or decreased risk will not be discernible till long after the event and through the analytical work of scores of researchers, your firm "no" looks very much like a knee jerk reaction.

But thanks for inquiring of us Americans who are the people closest to the issue.
The issue is global. America was once the leader of the free-world. What its President said was important. There are remnants of that sense around the world and some individuals and groups still pay heed to the incumbent. We are all neighbours. "America First" is damaging to the world at large, but it may be even more damaging to America.

I am not a Trump fan but in lieu of saying it's all trumps fault (cause it isn't all his FAULT...that would absolve these idiots ignoring physical distancing) I think we Should stick with 100% his responsibility.

Doesn't matter who the president, with something like this, someone is bound to accuse them of causing death...especially by this crowd.

Funny how not a single anti Trumper asked if he saved any lives, something I'm positive he did. But what the hay, lets use this virus thing for all it's worth, doesn't matter if people are dying left and right through the fault of no one, it's the perfect time for a post election slam..

Bad Trump! Bad boy!

Did you forget the word "not" in your first sentence between "did" and "believe"?
