What's your favorite type of transportation? Or do you have a dream car? Let's talk autos and what not :)

Does anyone collect trains sets? Or maybe have a car collection?

A local town has a train museum and they have made models of the train and local towns. It's pretty neat.

A friend of mine loves different types of planes and jets so it got me thinking about what everyone else likes. So let's go for it!

I love riding camels. Every time I go to the store, I get a ton of looks, but it drives the women crazy, so I keep it.

I'm a car guy so... Too many choices!

My two favorite cars I've owned were a 1970 Torino GT and a 1965 GTO...

I currently drive the best vehicle for where I live and my lifestyle, which is a modified 2014 Ram 1500. Gets me wherever I need to go in the woods and pulls my camper and hauls whatever I need to haul. Bought it new and it has been a great truck...

I remember back to 8 or 10 years ago, you could purchase a classic car like the Impala '64 in very good condition for between 7-10 grand. Man, they've appreciated in value big time. Also, did anyone else think of the John Candy movie by the same name of this thread when they read it? lol

I must be really old, because I remember when you could buy muscle cars for almost nothing.

I paid $1200 for the `70 Torino and $1700 for the `65 GTO. That was in the late 80's and early 90's.

Today, the Torino is worth around $20k and the Goat around $40k, depending on condition and options. I've probably let around a quarter of a million dollars worth of classic cars slip through my fingers over the years...

I am a big railfan. I used to--well, still do--like riding the trains, and whenever I went on vacation, I would spend most of it traveling from one end to the other.

I do have a dream car. I would like to have a 1976 Cadillac El Dorado Convertible as this was the last year for large Cadillacs sporting a drop top.

I also like the Lincoln Continental convertible with the suicide doors, I enjoyed driving around in my '79 Lincoln Continental (Town Car), and I had a blast with my '79 Trans Am

interesting subject. Yup, am a hot rodding junkie.
Love old cars, drags, speedboats, muscle cars.

Drive a '72 GTO as primary transportation, even to church. This pic is a few years old, car is in primer now and planning to paint her again this year. Have never owned, and probably never will own a car newer than 1981 and rarely drive anything newer than a 1972.
Been a hot rodder probably since age 7 or 8.
Train sets? Yes, have some that were my dads and older brothers. Old slot car sets too. Aurora, Lionel, Tyco.
Bought a large building earlier this year after saving for some time. Now it is sitting bundled on my property. Am saving up to get it erected and all finished. maybe by the end of the year.
Have a very large collection including many parts cars and also sell parts. All are Pontiacs- GTOs, Trans Ams, Catalinas, etc. Nothing newer than 1981 and not much older than 1955. Just something I like to do and grateful to the Lord for more than I deserve.
Not into pick up trucks, I like performance cars. Fishing does not interest me much either, like performance boating. It's a lot of fun.

Why are you interested in this stuff? what got you interested? I wish more women were.
I also host a few cars shows each year, have done a half dozen church car shows for the Lord. Run some drag races too as well as run my own cars at times.
One of my lifes goals is a museum for them.

Planes? yes, like them and learn and know about the military ones but, do not own and do not plan to own one. A few years back, 4 friends and I rode in a WWII B-25 Bomber. it was cool!

I started on my pilots license when I was 17. My dad wanted me to be a bush pilot and bought me a few lessons. I never did finish, though... Joined the Navy instead and ended up working on planes rather than flying them.

My dad always wanted to be an airline pilot growing up, started taking lessons but ran out of money. He became an engineer instead.

I'm a very nervous flyer, cars are alright as long as I'm not driving them. Never been on a train before, but looks relaxing.

I prefer driving above all else. I'll take a plane if I have to, but it's rather uncomfortable...just taking off and landing alone is nerve-wrecking to me.
As for trains...well, I know I've been on one, but I don't remember it. I'd like to take trains some time...but for now, I've got a car and a thrill for the road. :D

My dad had one...I have very fond memories of this little thing...I'd LOVE to have one myself.
