My co-worker is out sick today, so I'm covering her desk.

The plus - it is making my morning fly by since it's keeping me pretty busy.

The downside - her desk is a hot mess. ^_^ I've filed a bunch and processed a bunch of pending stuff. I spoke with her earlier and apologized in advance for the havoc I am wreaking in her inbox. ;)

5 weeks post knee surgery, I ran for the first time today. Actually first time since March. Alternated walking 1/6 mile and running 1/6 mile until I'd done a mile of running. Knee felt fine. Now icing and taking ibuprofen as per doctor's recommendations.

Did you have a knee replacement?

Thankfully not that! I think running days would be over for all real purposes. I had a torn meniscus. They basically cut out the torn part and smoothed what was left back out. Were able to use the scope for that one.

Ah, I remember you posting about that now.

I am in line for a knee replacement at some point, sigh. Going back to the Orthopaedic specialist to talk about it in September. I am hoping he can do something else first. I so don't want surgery.

I'm glad you are up and about again!! :)

Jane - prayers for your visit in September. Keep us updated as it gets closer and the visit happens.
Thank you. I sure will. I have been told by another lady about a drug called Euflexxa, which is injected into the knee - like the steroid - but in this case it actually is supposed to replace the fluid which should cushion the joint and allow for easier movement. Unlike the steroid, it is long lasting, and the lady who has had her first shot (there are a series of three injections) said that it can last for up to 6 years! I'm just surprised that my consultant never talked to me about this in the first place. I did go online and look at the info, and now I'm about ready to pass out having watched a consult with the needle going into the knee on YouTube, lol. I'm such a baby.

My daughter just posted on FB that she's dancing around the house singing "I'm going to New York tomorrow, I'm going to New York"! It made me think back to when she was a baby and we used to dance and sing on Friday's "Daddy's coming home today, daddy's coming home!" It's funny how she's carried that over to her adult life and doesn't even realize it. I'd tell her, but it might make her sad and I don't want to make her sad.

I wish! She's going with her husband. First to Buffalo to see his brother and then on to the mountains to see her daddy's family (and to give him some fresh flowers). I used to make the trip with her, but she's a grown up now so I stay home...........But I would LOVE to go and give her daddy some flowers! This year they might take a trip to Canada and I've never been to Canada! Hopefully her grandpa will be up for it.

I wonder if it was a bit much to tell my son's teacher I wouldn't just take him to the doctor to have more meds crammed down his throat b/c he is struggling in her class. :sorry: I think it was reasonable to ask for documented details about what types of behavior issues she is seeing. She didn't look too pleased, though, that I had contacted the AP to get the ball rolling on the behavior plan that she doesn't seem to think my son needs (never mind that it has been on his IEP for 3 years now  and got upgraded at the end of last year ).

Why do teachers complain about non-responsive parents but act so resistant towards an INVOLVED parent whose kid has issues? :sigh:

Aw, I'm sorry that you don't get to go. Could you send some fresh flowers?

It's always been our tradition to walk to the cemetary and pick him some wild flowers along the way. Since it was me who started the tradition I will be there in heart. And she does it mostly for me anyhow. She'll pick them, put them on his.............grave (I hate that word) and say "mommy loves and misses you daddy. She always has and she always will". I have a very good sensitive daughter. She's got a heart of gold just like her daddy did. :)
