Jesus Christ is the bread (manna) of life......He Himself had the Spirit without measure, but gives to all a measure while we are on earth. We take parables too far sometimes, with our own minds, instead of just the simple intent of them....
He is the bread of life, indeed. And those who eat it may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
Ephesians 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
John 6:35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh...Acts 2:17
we will in another way still be in the wilderness until He comes.......we really only get to TASTE of the heavenly kingdom until then.
He promises that we shall enter HIS rest... The last day may not be quite what you think it is...God laboured six days (creation week) and on the 7th he rested. IN Christ, a new creation...
Hebrews 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For he spake in a certain place of
the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
HE, the person of Christ, is the FINISHER of our faith as well as the beginning of it........meaning to be found in Him
To be found in Him...individually and together, ONE.
meaning to be found in Him, in His sheepfold, is both the beginning and finishing of our faith....and to be found there when He comes to finish the good work He began in us
He can and will finish the work begun as long as we "take not a thought..."and build a wall/city/idol with what we have already received...some have entered that rest, no longer labouring for the bread, but the Master serving it ...as promised in scripture.
And who is HE.........just read the gospels, He is no more and no less than that, and we are to be the same, no more, no less than that.
Amen! To be the same...by Him, through HIM and IN HIM. A son of God.
