the bible is full of religious stuff. do the saints do things that they do not recommend? religion is not bad in and of itself.
moses, ezekiel, ezra, paul, john, peter.... they were all religious. they did religious things.
ofc the Spirit matters, that is what being Spiritual means... it means living the higher life. I think church and that kind of stuff is good for some types of souls. true religion is just real life. it is not right to accuse something if it is innocent and when you lump categories like 'religious' or 'spiritual' and condemn them fully... then all i see is massive bloodshed and the fighting of many nations. you probably don't even condemn them fully, I would hope.
but yeah, one day if enough people are willing, the earth will have no more churches, no more governments, no more economies and who knows what else they will and won't have.
Rev 21:22-26 (YLT)
And a sanctuary I did not see in it, for the Lord God, the Almighty, is its sanctuary, and the Lamb, and the city hath no need of the sun, nor of the moon, that they may shine in it; for the glory of God did lighten it, and the lamp of it is the Lamb; and the nations of the saved in its light shall walk, and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it, and its gates shall not at all be shut by day, for night shall not be there; and they shall bring the glory and the honour of the nations into it;
looks like God demands from all the nations - gifts. so I think we are allowed to use any words we want. I can take anything from any nation that is good. I can eat of any tree in the garden. most of us got Pharisee and tax collectors and all other kinds of sinners that want to make us like they are. i'm either doing what is right or i'm doing what is wrong.
the faith of Jesus Christ is also the faith that God presented in the books of His Prophets of the old testament, and that faith, the true/right one, is based on the show of pure love for the humans/neighbor, indeed, first is love and then faith appears as a manifestation of love, because love needs to be effective, or how will love (be able to) solve the problem if there is no effective means of solution, actually, love is that thing which solves the problems, while faith is just (the) faithfulness of love, for if love is not faithful, then it will not be persistent to solve the problems completely and permanently - it thus may even be hypocritical, so if we consider every thing separately from the others, it will turn out that only love solves the problems, and what thing the believer/worshiper concentrates more than (the) (an)other(s) in his/her faith, that thing may dominate his/her faith, so if the stress is on the spirituality, then the faith may rather be based on the principle of (the) spirituality, but spirituality means there are some spirits in the faith, and it is very likely to turn out that it is not clear what spirits exactly work/act there, because the very spiritual is not visible/perceptible, indeed, the (religious) spirituality might easily turn out to be a dwelling (place) for/of all kinds of devilish/unclean spirits, moreover, the purpose of the devils may not be clear - they could play games with the worshipers ad infinitum
Revelation 18:1-10 "And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come."
and if the stress is on the religiosity, then the faith may turn out to be full of vain traditions, customs, rites, ceremonies, rituals, observances, etc., and even to be an idolatry:
1 Corinthians 10:1-14 "Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry."
because we anyway had to and still have to drink, eat, go to work, etc., but why must we turn these things into religion?!, for there are much more important/worthy things that we can do, such as Gospel preaching, Holy exorcism, healing, resurrection, etc., and these are the things that the true God prefers us to do
that is why the words "spirituality" and "religiosity" even do not exist anywhere in the Bible, not that the faith of Christ is not spiritual, but if we should call the things of faith with their real names, then such concepts as spirituality and religiosity can't/won't be right
