Haven't been around since May, but I just thought I'd drop in and see how everyone was, and wish you a blessed Advent and a merry Christmas!

yesterday was my birthday (29 again)!

I had a friend who when she was 49, would say that she was "Twenty-nine, with twenty years' experience!"

Well, I'm having a great week! My first horses in twenty-five years or so arrived Monday! The Lord does answer prayers. Of course, they've arrived in a way that I didn't expect or plan for. All the same, I'm very happy with the result.

Here's a picture from our visit to Fresno State this summer. Riverdance is on my right and Condessa the left. Both are old-fashoned Coaching Hackneys imported from Argentina by a previous owner (Jim Laird).

They were dropped off at the road, so I had to walk them down the drive to the back paddock. That's one difficult task with two Sixteen-plus hand horses that are having a hard time with their new surroundings.

As you can see, they're both rather blubber-butts. Fresno State certainly didn't stint the hay.

We got piccies of 2 out of the 3 of our cats. One of the pet stores in the area had a photographer come in and took the photo. I had to superimpose them to be in the same sleigh (I got permission from them to do that since their terms say no modification or altering w/o permission).

It's almost Christmas Eve here, so Merry Christmas, everyone. I hope everyone's family make safe journeys to be together for celebrating our Savior's birth.

I am home recovering well from the surgery. The surgeon was surprised at the obvious abnormalities of my golly ow bladder, but lab report won't be available until after Christmas. I'm just glad it's out and the idea of eating is no longer more scary than not. Silly little organ.

God willing, we'll be celebrating New Year's Eve from Texas. Please tell me the weather is better there and that the sun will produce from warmth while we're there. I could use some skin color.

Yes he certainly does! Often in ways we least expect. The lady who owns the farm my girls are currently residing at has been looking for a handyman and a trainer for her ponies. In my case, she gets both all wrapped up in the same pain in the a... ahem, uhh... fellow.

I do hope you're feeling better and the weather cooperates in Texas, Porter. Being that this summer was the driest in a very long time, it would be a poor business to start raining just when you get there. Then again... I know of a few people who would think that rain a fantastic Christmas/New-Year's gift.

I had a great first Christmas as a grandma. Our little one is such a beauty. I over-did on the gifts, but it was really fun. Can't wait to do this grandma thing all over again in May. Life is good.

I got a Keurig for Christmas from my hubby. It makes great coffee. I already ordered a coffee tower, and some more new flavors of coffee.

The last major room with murals got covered up yesterday with a beautiful chameleon green paint. Hubby is going to start laying in the new hardwood floors tomorrow .

Beautiful horses, Stude. When I was a teenager, my sister had a hackney/Arabian mare. Beautiful step. I loved watching her trot across the pasture.
