So my youngest son had his first "class" to prepare his Christian Witness yesterday during the Sunday School hour. His topic "What does the comfort of God mean to me." I think it will be interesting to see what he writes! This is my last child to go through Confirmation and I feel a little sad about it!

Skin color? Did you mean skin colour? Anyway, what is wrong about different shades of pale? You are British now, for God's sake.

Have a happy and healthy new year!

Cheers, Till. Hope your New Year has been fab so far.

Where you been anyway?

It seems as though it's been colder here some days than in Herts, but I guarantee we've seen and felt the sun more. I only hope the freeze free weather holds out until we land and collect our animals. :)

You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can’t take Texas out of the girl.

:p

TRUE!!!! I can hardly wait until we can come back for good. God willing, that won't be too many years from now.

Been stuck in the house for three days and going nutz!!

LOL, I love that one.

Took a ride on the Bartel's Stagecoach last Sunday. What a wonderful way to end a Sunday. Here's a pic of the coach just before we left. Yours truely is on the top-centre and leaning forward. Paula is wearing the brown jacket, directly beneath inside the coach, grinning out the window:

I'm thinning the FB friend herd. There is a link going around about a Democratic (senator I think) protesting about women having to get an ultrasound to see the baby before having an abortion and calling it an inconvenience so she wants to make a pelvic exam mandatory for men who have erectile dysfunction.

The people who say anything positive about this post (I've seen "brilliant", "finally pushing gender equality") gets immediately unfriended.

It's sickening.

Life is an inconvenience? ugh.

When I was a teen I had a couple of friends who had abortions...multiple ones. I could not wrap my head around it at all. One girl was so nonchalant about it as if she just went in for a manicure or something.

How is everyone doing? I'm busy subbing at the high school...today is FACS class. Bet we watch movies all day long, so I'm bringing my Kindle Fire to read!!!

Praying for your niece, Ctay!

I've been doing the happy dance that the SKG foundation decided to pull its donations to Planned Parenthood. I'm on a vehemently childfree group and am the only one celebrating. Eh well. I'll keep on celebrating!

I stopped supporting the Susan Koman Foundation a few years back. They spend very little money on supporting research for breast cancer and way too much money on suing people who use the words "for the cure". It's crazy to spend millions to sue people when that money could be going towards helping find a cure and providing services to women who need them. (and I don't support Planned Parenthood either so SK pulling funding doesn't bother me).

Hello, everyone! I'm new here (well, I've had an account for a few weeks but haven't been on much). I look forward to getting to know you all :)

Welcome, from an old codger who is probably the longest participating member still around. Enjoy your time. Any background info?

Thanks for the welcome!

Well, I'm 21 years old, I've been an LCMS Lutheran my whole life (though my mom's side of the family is mostly Catholic, so I've been to a fair amount of Masses, and Catholic weddings and funerals), was born in St. Louis but now live in the Nashville, TN area. I'm a junior in college currently. That's about it. :)
