I never claimed that you did.

Unfortunately, people like to dig up old DUI stories about Republicans.
I'm sure that none of those can likely compare to some of the obvously untrue stories we've seen around here.

There are members here nearly breaking a sweat trying to convince us that Obama's a Muslim, that he's not patriotic because of a flag lapel pin, that he's had gay sex with someone who can't apparently even pass a lie detector, etc etc...

It makes me ill.

I knew exactly what Michelle Obama meant, and feel the same, as do a lot of people. Unfortunately, it probably wasn't the best thing to say because it can be taken wrongly and used against her husband.

But then again, she's not the one that's going to be President, so I don't require her to be a perfect speaker or anything.

It's easy to slip up sometimes, especially when the other canidates are looking for everything and anything they can to smear the others.

Makes me wonder if they're not getting desperate or something. Can't find anything else to mud sling I guess?

You know, it's not like we've accused Obama of being AWOL from the National Guard or anything like that. We're not dredging up stories of him paying for an abortion for his girlfriend 30 years ago or accusing him of having financial dealings with the Saudis. It's not like Republicans don't get their share of sliming after all

Exactly. And ALL of the above is TRUE about George Bush, plus the slimy fact that he stayed drunk all day essentially from the time he was 20 years old until he was 40 years old, i.e., two full decades.

Those are NOT the reasons, specifically, why I voted for George Bush Jr.'s Democrat opponents both times and thus voted against him. In addition to those facts, there were many, many other indications of George Bush Jr.'s lack of intelligence, lack of education, and lack of common human decency that made him utterly revolting in my eyes.

George Bush Jr. got by very well his entire life because he was born a rich boy with connections. That is pretty much the sum total of his "accomplishments".

Many people do not know that much about Barack Obama’s life story, but those of us who do know are fairly impressed, compared to just about any national figure you can name, republican or democrat - especially in comparison to George Bush. E.g., 9/11 DID NOT happen on Barack Obama's watch. E.g., thousands of American lives and half a trillion dollars were sacrificed by attacking the wrong country in the most incompetent way by George Bush, Jr. - NOT Barack Obama. Those are things you might want to think about, occasionally, in your quieter moments.

The republican lie machine will do whatever it takes to defeat Obama, but trying to make him out some sort of devil is just slimy, filthy lying for political purposes.

I just hope enough people can see through the lies and prevent the lobbyist’s friend, John McCain, from keeping us on a path to be in Iraq for another century, making sure the oil companies and drug companies make the per cent profit that the republican god intends for them to make, and making sure he gets discounts on Viagra so he can continue to date and/or marry hot blondes and not disappoint.

Barack Obama has said he will get us out of Iraq ASAP, with a year or so. He could be lying. If he is elected and fails to keep that promise, I will be glad to volunteer to lead a campaign to have him impeached.

Is that fair enough for everybody?

You're falling back on the old semantics argument. It doesn't wash here
it is your primary stock in trade on these boards. you rarely bring anything else. its a drag having it turned back against you isn't it.
only this time you can't face that having pride doesn't mean that previously you had shame.
don't you even care how you are perceived? thank God for anonymity, huh?

Quoting and then expressing disapproval of what a liberal says is slinging mud?

i don't feel the need. everyone who is the least familiar with your input is well aware of your tactics. it's a cliche on these boards.
if you aren't aware of it, you are the only one that isn't, but i have a sneaking suspicion you are well aware of it. the only thing is, i just don't care. convincing you of anything has become completely irrelevant, in fact counterproductive, to having an intelligent conversation. it leads people down roads that are intellectually embarrassing.
not derailing this thread to give countless examples of something that is not in question to the vast majority of posters on this forum.
go ahead. declare victory so we can all giggle at your completely predictable behavior.

Mach, it appears that B is tired of being embarrassed by you taking him down the road of his illogical arguments.

voeglin, when obama implodes, hillary is not going to try and pick him back up. He'll be out the side door looking for handouts while the clintons will be partying out front.

Do you dream this stuff up on your own naturally or is wild mushroom tea on your daily menu? :D

Obama will be the Democrat nominee. The scenario wherein Hillary steals the nomination is science fiction at this point.

You better direct your worry to your own favorite candidate, John McCain. He will be stepping on about, oh, a thousand land mines between now and election day - mostly about connections with lobbyists, perhaps sexual, but certainly financial.

Personally, I hardly can wait to see McCain display his debate skills, such as they are, against Obama.

I can also hardly wait to see what kind of smear campaign the repubs will mount against Obama and how every smear they put out, deftly countered by Obama, will just put them one more point behind in the polls.

It should be fun, shouldn't it?
