I for one, in 50 years of Christianity ministry have never had a member of the church leave the Protestant church in favor of the Catholic Church.

Sorry Major1, but that's a bit much for one to swallow. In my Arch Diocese alone, at this past Easter Vigil, we had over 400 converts, coming home to the Catholic Church. Ninety percent of them were from different Protestant Denominations. If you'd be willing to tell me what Arch Diocese you preside in, I'd be more than happy to look up the number of converts to the Catholic Church there were this past Easter.

Allow me to say to you that those of us who are Protestant are not lacking any of the graces or blessing of God that He makes available to all.

I disagree, but thanks for your opinion just the same.

I was refuring to the limitation of the unbiblical doctrine of sola scriptura.
I have found a great measure of peace and joy, and when others try to tear down my faith, im strengthened as i rest in Gods grace. When im weak im strong. What more do i need besides God's grace? I must also make a cross sign? That will complete me somehow?

By the phrase, "Separated", I hope that you mean separate from the Catholic church and not separate from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Yes, as in separated from the Church Jesus Christ started, The Holy Catholic Church!

What you call the Eucharist we as Protestants call the same thing the Lord's Supper/Communion.

Off topic...... If you'd like to discuss the Holy Eucharist, please start a thread and I would be more than happy to discuss it with ya.

Forgive me if I came off as tearing down your faith, for that was not my intent at all. As a Catholic, I know very well how that feels. We Catholics see it here at CF on nearly a daily basis. All I am trying to understand is why many non-Catholics refuse to use all the tools in the spiritual toolbox (like the sign of the cross) against Satan and his minions.

Gods grace is sufficient for us. At first this sounds like we are settling for less than a full measure, but its actually the most advanced teaching a person could hope to follow. Others boast in their money, position, or even credentials, but following Paul's example is to glory only in the Lord.

I think the obvious answer is that making the sign of the cross is just "too Catholic" for those who are rife with anti-Catholic sentiment. Is it required? No. But neither is it wrong for those who wish to do it. It seems to be another of those things where, after 2,000 years of church tradition, someone comes along and says, "You've been doing it wrong." :crossrc:

Have you ever placed the symbol of the cross in your home, or on your Bible? How about your church? Does the pulpit, or steeple have a symbol of the cross? How about your car, ever have a symbol of the cross hanging from the mirror or in it's bumper?

The Roman Catholic Church cannot clearly and easily show its history before 320 AD, when the Roman Emperor Constantine professed conversion, amalgamated pagans and Christians, and declared himself to be the head or pontiff of the Universal (Catholic) Church.

The early Church never had many of the doctrines that the Roman Catholic Church now has.

Isahiah 8:20.........
"If they speak not according to this Word, it is because there is no light in them."

I do not blame you for not responding the Eucharist. If I did not have an acceptable answer that is what I would do as well.

For one and only one reason. They are NOT found in Gods Word, the Bible. Therefore those tools come from the mind of man and not the heart of God which means that ultimately they will turn into idolatry.

I disagree, but thanks for your opinion just the same.

I hate to say this to you and do not mean to be mean or critical to you, but I really do not care if any "swallows" that or not.

I know that it happens, we have several right now who converted from the RCC in our church.
What I am saying is that NO ONE has converted from the church I have attended to the RCC.
