I agree.God accepts as we are, as unrighteous sinners, but He doesn't want us to stay that way
He loves us too much to let us stay in all that darkness.

Actualy, that is the opposite of scriptural truth:quote=EmperorConstantine; When you go by Scripture only for all things, you may as well cut your tongue, pull out your eyes and give yourself a lobotomy since you are limiting yourself that much.
That didn't take place in heaven. What about the Transfiguration?
Sounds more like a lack of study.quote=Maranatha27;I got it from studying the Word. I will provide scripture if you like.
Not according to scripture, but feel free to self-soothe that way if you must. Can I pray to Mary or a beloved Saint and they will relay my message to God?
Yes.quote=Mary of Bethany; And why, oh why, would you think we're sleepwalking, when we're in Christ??? Come on now, Rick - do you really think we're mindlessly sleepwalking, because we look to the Church. Scripture, and Tradition to make sure we stay in Christ, instead of "only" Scripture (which is really impossible anyway)?
I agree that it's a pleasant thought. There are plenty of "strange Gospels" out there, but I know as long as I *mindfully* follow in the footsteps of those who have walked this path before me, I remain in Christ.
Who is more righteous than people in heaven? Not me.The "Saints" are More Righteous Than We Are
IN an other thread, I was told that God hears the "Saints"
'prayers' because they're more righteous, already being
in Heaven (if that's where they are).
Does God prefer them over us?
Is He a respecter of WHERE one of His kids
is standing, or/and just how righteous are we?
...except for Jesus being our advocate & intercessor already, along with His not instructing us to pray that way.
It is not. You are correct. the intercession of fellow Christians in heaven clearly does not interfere with Christs unique mediatorship because in 1 Timothy 2:1-4, Paul says that Christians should interceed: "First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life, godly and respectful in every way. This is good, and pleasing to God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Tim. 2:14). Clearly, intercessory prayers offered by Christians on behalf of others is something "good and pleasing to God"...How do you see praying to saints to help us and Jesus being our advocate already being in conflict?
Only if the horse is Mr Ed.It's like asking the horse to convince the cowboy riding him, that he should take the long way.
LOL,... the reason that has nothing to do with asking the saints in heaven to pray for you is because it is instructing you to pray, but not to the saints in heaven. Repeat it for me so I don't have to guess which one you mean by "first", please.Rick I am confused by what you are saying.
What was your answer about my first question ??
thanks!
This is the first time you have asked that question in this thread today, as I can see by looking at your posts, so I'm wondering if you're trying to "pull a fast one", or if & how you could be so confused as to think you've already asked me that.Rick I am confused by what you are saying.
What was your answer about my first question ??
thanks!
(.................................Otto sez, 'Repeat yer 1st query, porfavor'....................................................)
what is the difference between asking a saint in heaven to pray for you than asking someone on earth to pray for you?
they both need Jesus to be able to do anything.
