“You stiff-necked people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are just like your fathers: You always resist the Holy Spirit!” (Acts 7:51)Ah, the "god works in mysterious ways" cop-out.
Some Christians seem to quote from Scripture as though they are casting spells from a spell book, desperately hoping it will have some effect. Sorry, but verses from the Bible aren't magic spells.“You stiff-necked people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are just like your fathers: You always resist the Holy Spirit!” (Acts 7:51)

“Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”Some Christians seem to quote from Scripture as though they are casting spells from a spell book, desperately hoping it will have some effect. Out of curiosity, what do you hope to gain from quoting Bible verses? Do you expect them to have a purchase on those who don't consider the Bible an authority? Because quoting scriptures seems to be more therapeutic for you than it is edifying for me.11 He told them, “The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. “‘they may be ever seeing but never perceiving,
and ever hearing but never understanding;
otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!’”
13 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable?

What an utterly condescending piece of drivel. I thought you Christians were supposed to be humble?
Would you not find it in poor taste or arrogant if I wrote a post saying "you know your god is not real, you're on here simply trying to delude yourself into keeping your faith, because you're too scared to face reality". That's ultimately the exact same thing your post is saying, but taken from the other perspective.
I'd say you owe ToddNotTodd an apology.

21 He said to them, “Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don’t you put it on its stand? 22 For whatever is hidden is meant to be disclosed, and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. 23 If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear.”Out of curiosity, what do you hope to gain from quoting Bible verses? Although it has no effect on those who don't consider the Bible an authority, it does seem to be making him feel better.Mere preaching and opinion. You have given us no logical reason to believe you.
If a man claimed to be "the Son of God" and performed miracles right in front of your eyes, would you believe him or call it a hoax or trickery?Mere preaching and opinion. You have given us no logical reason to believe you.
How would you know that he performed a miracle?If a man claimed to be "the Son of God" and performed miracles right in front of your eyes, would you believe him or call it a hoax or trickery?
