Wait...you are a messenger of God?
Ambassador, Mr. Strawberry -- ambassador.

2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.

If you're talking about the Flood, maybe God didn't want to see you guys harping on why Noah was aboard the Ark for a year, or why birds had to board the Ark, or why the drowned just didn't vacate the area, or why the Ark was even built, or ...

You know? Occam's razor and all?

So you could whine the word didn't exist until the 1630's? therefore the KJB was written much later?

Don't you guys do that with the word "steel" in the Bible?

Leviticus, chief -- Leviticus 11.

I'm just looking for some internal consistancy on your part. If "star" can mean planet or asteroid, then "earth" can mean land, "unicorn" can mean rhino, and "fowl" can mean a flying animal.

I ask this constantly as well. Whenever a flat earth argument comes up and the passage where Jesus was shown the entire world from the top of a mountain is used, AV says that was a "slide show".

Matthew 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

Somehow, the above is a "slide show", but the flood being the entire physical world is literal. If it was a "slide show" it could have been from anywhere, so why the "exceeding high mountain"? Go figure.

And what was my answer to that, scientist?

Hey, it says kingdoms. Not Republic, counties, dukedoms, empires or any other form of goverment other than monarchy. So; if all the kingdoms are on the same half of the earth; they can be shown while the reath is round. :yum:

I believe the word translated as unicorn in the KJV actually referred to this animal.

 Well, that's certainly understandable. I mean, I have to remind myself constantly when I drive by a farm with cattle that those aren't unicorns.

The last documented auroch went extinct in 1627 in Poland. The King James edition was completed in 1611. Call me crazy, but I suspect that when they were writing the bible they would have known the difference between a member of the bovine family and an equine animal with a horn growing out of it's forehead.

My mistake... I thought it referred to the rhino.

It has to do with how to translate "re’em." The original writers knew what they were writing about... it was the KJV authors were the ones who mistranslated it. At the time, it was actually believed by many that there were unicorns, so they translated "one horn" into "unicorn."

My point is that AVET uses the incorrect translation in the KJV bible to claim that there were real unicorns in ancient times and that this "pwns evolution with cryptozoology." His excuse for doing this is that the KJV bible is "perfect." He even claims that if earlier bible versions disagree with the KJV (even those in the original Hebrew), then the earlier versions are wrong. Yet, he has no problem claiming that "star" in the KJV bible can mean "planet" or "asteroid."

This seems to be the crux. It seems to be an "arbitrary line in the sand". A unilateral decree that the most "perfect" translation came 1600 years after Jesus walked the earth and thousands of years after the earlier parts of the OT and that no better information could have come later....despite our ability to find older manuscripts and have a better view of the entirety of history.

Personally I would wonder about a God who decided that 1,600 years of possible "error" in a hyperliteral book, let alone several thousands of more years of possible error in the older portions.

Is that "wisdom"?

Oh wait, I can think of a much, much better way to assess reality: look at the physical record. Yeah the rocks seldom "make stuff up" or "embed" that which isn't actually there.

It's hard for nature to make a "fake", but apparently quite easy for a supreme all-loving omnipotent, omniscient being.

Can God make a fake thing? Answer: yes.

WOULD God make a fake thing?

What's this then?

Jude 13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.

That was a little after Adam's time ... but God's translators took care of it.

So then there are millions of planets in our solar system, as well as nearby suns (<2,000 light years) that noticeably move around due to stellar parallax.

So is Alpha Centauri a planet? It does move about in the night sky compared to background stars.

How in Heaven's name could Adam know about Alpha Centauri??? Did he have access to some higher form of information? Like a telescope or a space shuttle?

I can't imagine how Adam could possibly know about anything outside of Eden....right? Did he know someone?

;)
