The body is extremely complex, but we do fully understand it (minus the brain which we're learned more about in the past ten years than in all of history combined). We can now create almost any organ you want via stem cells, we can create artificial organs, and we understand the body's functions down to the cellular level.

We will in the next century. We already create other organisms (you can download a type of worm that is accurate down to each cell's parts and which runs in real time). To make a better design would be easy given all the flaws. For one, how about we not include the useless appendix or coccyx? We could also remove the blind spot in your eyes that forces your brain to have your eyes vibrate to compensate. All those needless, tiny bones in your ankle and foot could be reduced to prevent ankle rolls (we evolved from tree climbers, so we're not like other land mammals that don't roll ankles like us). I could keep going, but you get the idea.

Science says we will build a better human.

God says he will have to save us from utter destruction by our own hand.

What to believe? Mmmmmmmmmm.

I'm sorry if I offended you.
I was just taken aback slightly by what I thought was a childish answer.

You asked a simple question; I gave a simple answer, with a little humor (I'm really good at that). Also, I didn't think your question was serious at all, just a thinly veiled reason to argue.

Wiseguy,

If it wasn't for the advancements in science and medicine, our life expectancy would be decades less than what it is today and that is a fact.

We have people alive because of pacemakers, complex cardiovascular procedures, medications that keep diseases in check, machines that filter the blood and I could go on and on and on.

You seem like a nice enough guy, but have you really thought deeply, how much science has contributed to the wellbeing of mankind?

Objection to your "conclusions"!

Clear and simple projection that if only people who know Him walked the earth that God could not teach nor show them how natural understanding can bring about cell phones, electromagnetic communication standards and hardware, nor medical imaging and body organ assisting electrical-mechanical components.

Who are you trying to delude that "advancements" as stated above are a sole product of Naturalistic Man?

I wasn't speaking of body parts, I was speaking of the body. The body is an extremely complex life form, not fully understood yet and you claim that the body can be designed and reproduced?

Like I said, make a better design. And then build it.

Not fully understood YET. Given how much people have learned in just the past century, I find it entirely plausible that we could have the human body figured out within our life time. Also, primitive artificial brains have been made by people, they consist of brain cells grown from stem cells and some computer chips. They also have artificial bodies they hook them up to, and they explore and remember their environment. They remind me of robot rats.

Science doubled our lifespans in the past hundred years. Science allowed us to go from the pony express to sending messages across the globe in seconds, invisibly, through the air. Your version of God requires a worldwide meltdown... others do not.

Every example you gave was invented by a physicist.

No....from the things that you would claim that your god has laid in our path...

Like the hundreds of thousands of women who used to die from urinary tract infections, because of the proximity of their urethra to their anus....science has addressed that problem through the development of antibiotics...

Like the horrors of children dying from polio and smallpox.....science has addressed that problem through the development of vaccines...

Like the millions, including many children, who die from the varieties of cancers.....science has addressed that problem through the development of drugs, surgical techniques and radiotherapy....

Like the millions who used to die from teeth that were 'designed' to rot and become infected....science has addressed that problem through the development of modern dentistry....

You are so weak and pathetic...!

Indeed it has, but I was talking about Armageddon, brought on by our evil nature, happening before science perfects us physically. What has science done to address our destructive nature?

Science cannot keep up with our self-destructive tendencies. We are already in a man-made global meltdown. God will eventually have to save us out of it.

Enjoy your meltdown - I'm going to get a tan while slathering on ultra-violet ray blocking, mass manufactured ointment, all while drinking a mass-manufactured pina colada out of my electronic, air temperature controlling refrigerator.

Excessive destructive natures would likely come from mental illness and psychology has played a significant role in treating those who are identified as mentally ill, etc..

Problem is, every person does not go through a thorough psychological evaluation, like a person does a physical evaluation every once in a while from their physician, so mental illness, is much more difficult to treat and identify, but we know much more about it today, than we did 50 years ago and we will know more about it 50 years from now, then we do today.

I'm referring to our basic nature, not any particular pathology.

Our basic nature is to get along in society, not to be destructive. If our basic nature was to be destructive, the human race would not have survived.

When one has excessive destructive tendencies it is likely from a mental illness or psychological disorder, that is not the norm.

Meh, I would say in some contexts being destructive can be advantageous.

As long as society produces a good crop of victims the predators among us will thrive. When all the victims are gone the predators will destroy each other. It's almost like a human pyramid scheme. ^_^

Mental illness and psychological disorders are the 'sanity' of our society. When the majority of people are goofy it is taken as normal.

If I were to describe the mental state of our society the word would be 'dumb', as in unaware of anything except themselves.

Mental illness and psychological disorders are the "sanity" of our society? Not quite, as folks who fit certain criteria are not considered sane, as compared to the normative.

Regarding dumb, I like to use the term "ignorant" and there are plenty of those, as well as individuals who are not all that skilled in acknowledging reality.
