It's about time. I always wanted a thread like this but I didn't think there were enough of us around for it. Glad I'm not alone.
I also suffer from Star Wars withdraws on occasion. The first movie I ever seen outside of my house was The Return of the Jedi with my parents at the ripe age of 2 and I still have the book they gave out on opening night. I still have all of my original figures from when I was a child and have even purchased some of the originals still sealed over the years. I have a room in my house devoted to my Star Wars collection that consists of everything from my action figures new and old, books, posters, busts, autographs, etc. I would say that since I got a job my freshmen year of high school I have easily spent close to 40 thousand dollars on my collection and wouldn't give it up for anything. I have two Star Wars tattoos and hope to finish my back up over the next few years. I name my Yorkie Chewbacca and my daughers middle name is Leia, not that I hold my child and my dog in the same group but they both suffered my wrath when it came to names.
Over the past few years at the Star Wars celebration and other cons I've met the following cast members:
Carrie Fisher-Princess Leia
Anthony Daniels-C-3PO
Kenny Baker-R2-D2
Billy Dee Williams-Lando
Peter Mayhew-Chewbacca
David Prowse-Darth Vader
Jeremy Bulloch-Boba Fett
Warwick Davis-Wicket the Ewok
Phil Brown-Uncle Owen
And various cast members from the Prequel Trilogy.
And I have to say the nicest cast member that I've ever met was Amy Allen. She played Aayla Secura in Attack of the Clones and will revise her role in EP3. She more than willing the chat and take photos and she even exchanged emails with me and I have spoken to her several times since.
I can't wait for Revenge of the Sith next may, I think I'm more excited about taking my daughter to see it, after I see it and make sure there's nothing she shouldn't see or would be too scary for her. I'd like to end my Star Wars experience full circle, with what began as my parents and myself to end with my daughter and I.
