Hi Randy,
I see. I said that because you ridiculed me as to not knowing history, (which I do). Then I said I can give you details from God`s word, (as per teachers who have taught me), because you said you had looked into God`s word and not seen any. I thought I was being helpful. However I do see it could have come over as you said, like an oracle. Sorry for that.
So much gets misunderstood ay, Randy. So I appreciate your kindness asking me to share. Thank you.
And yes, I would like to get on better with you too bro.
As this thread is about the `Church` I think I should perhaps start another thread to do with the `details of the contemporary view of Dan. 7.`
regards, Marilyn.
Exactly my thoughts. Shows some maturity, don't you think? Yes, I love the subject, and am always open to details I may have not yet seen. Sometimes I even learn things from someone who I think is 90% wrong and only 10% right! However, you sound like the kind of person who is 90% right, so I'm all ears!
Incidentally, I don't believe I was actually insulting your lack of knowledge of history, though looking back on it, I can see how you might have viewed it that way. What I meant to say is that instead of seeing things in a "current events" sort of way, I tend to look back at history more, including historical perspectives.
I don't think I could've been insulting your ignorance of history because I don't even know you! Obviously, you knew who the 4 Beasts of Dan 7 were! So that's a start. I also consider current events important--I didn't mean to demean that!
When I say I take an historical perspective, what I mean is that I see the 4th Beast as the Roman Imperial Tradition, as it existed in ancient times, and as it continues to exist all through history in Europe. I got this perspective from Gordon Lindsey, who I disagree with on his Pretrib approach, but found that he discovered this historical trail of Roman Imperialism all through European history.
Though I don't know if he's right, I tend to take his approach. Not exactly, but on that path.
I don't believe that we will come up with anything better than those who've gone before us. However, as we get closer to fulfilling last day events, I think you would be right to take a special look at what's happening now. I do think things are winding down...
My regards, as well,
Randy
