No. I have not been shown that "the Lord's Day" is the Sabbath. The exact term appears only once in the Bible (Rev.1:10) and is not there defined. The term is however well defined in the writings of the early church. The Lord's Day is Sunday.

So you agree there is no scripture that shows that the LORD'S DAY is SUNDAY. Thankyou I am glad we can agree. The term for LORD'S DAY is indeed not defined in REVELATION 1:10 but it is defined what day is the LORDS DAY in other parts of scripture. It is scripture that interprets the scriptures *ISAIAH 26:10-13.

Q. WHAT DAY IS THE "LORD'S DAY" ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE?

A.
MATTHEW 12:8 [8], For THE SON OF MAN IS LORD EVEN OF THE SABBATH DAY.

Which day is the Lord's Day? THE SABBATH DAY (MATTHEW 12:8; MARK 2:27-28)

God's WORD says that the SABBATH DAY IS THE LORD'S DAY!

.............

ARE THERE AND OTHER SCRIPTURE SHOWING GOD HAVING A PREFERRED DAY?

GENESIS 2:3, And GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY AND SANCTIFIED IT : because in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Yep GOD sanctified or set apart and blessed and made holy the SEVENTH DAY OF THE WEEK

EXODUS 20:8-11
[8], Remember the SABBATH DAY, to KEEP IT HOLY. <Why?> Because God made it Holy for mankind and commands us to keep it as a Holy day)
[9], Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work:
[10], But the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD YOUR GOD: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: <WHY>
[11], For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the SEVENTH DAY: wherefore the LORD BLESSED THE SABBATH, and HALLOWED IT. [from GENESIS 2:1-3]

Yep the SEVENTH DAY IS THE SABBATH OF THE LORD. It is the LORD'S DAY alright he has set it apart from all the other days of the week, blessed it as a memorial of creation and made it one of the 10 commandments.

ISAIAH 58:13 If you turn away your foot from the sabbath, from doing your pleasure ON MY HOLY DAY; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honorable; and shall honor him, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words.

* Yep Jesus calls THE SABBATH HIS HOLY DAY. It is the LORD'S DAY.

These scriptures above show GOD taking OWNERSHIP of the SABBATH DAY.

REVELATIONS 1:10, I was in the Spirit on the LORD'S DAY, and heard behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet,

NOTE: The GREEK κυριακός meaning of LORD'S used here means belonging to the Lord (Jehovah or Jesus) connected to ἡμέρα which means DAY.

So the GREEK meaning of the LORD'S DAY is a DAY BELONING TO THE LORD. Which day does God specifically set apart as his holy day as belonging to him?

*GENESIS 2:1-3
*EXODUS 20:8-11
*ISAIAH 58:13
*MATTHEW 12:8

All state that the LORDS DAY. The DAY that God himself has set apart, BLESSED and made HOLY, made one of the 10 COMMANDMENTS that the LORD'S DAY is the SABBATH DAY and is why JESUS even says in HIS OWN WORDS " THE SON OF MAN IS LORD EVEN OF THE SABBATH DAY. *MATTHEW 12:8

.............

Sorry Steve, God's WORD disagrees with you. Scripture alone says that the LORD'S DAY is the SABBATH DAY not sunday. Calling the LORD'S DAY sunday is not biblical and there is no scripture for this.

Hope this helps

Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear?

Indeed CIRCUMCISION is not a requirement for salvation *ACTS 15:1-2

There was more to it than circumcision.

Acts 15:5
Then some of the believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees stood up and said, “The Gentiles must be circumcised and required to keep the law of Moses.”

You are twisting God's word to say what it does not say. The Lord's Day is not the Sabbath. The Sabbath is the Sabbath. There is no other term for it.

Sorry friend I have posted scripture that directly answers your question on more then one occassion.

I have chased all your links you have given and none of them lead to any scriptures that address my question.

If you had a scripture you would quote it.

But since you don’t you just keep avoiding the obvious but talking in circles.

Your doctrine of the Sabbath is man made.

Jesus never commanded the Church to gather on a specific day.

If He did, the please post a scripture where Jesus commanded the Church to gather on a certain day.

Jesus never gave any specific instructions as to how the Church is to observe the Sabbath.

If He did, then please post the scriptures where Jesus gave such instructions.

All you have done is list Old Testament scriptures.

Is CIRCUMCISION one of the 10 Commandments Steve? CIRCUMCISION is from the MOSAIC BOOK of the COVENANT not the 10 Commandments.

Well that has no truth in it. Please feel free to address this post then. It seems God's WORD disagrees with you.

Please show the New Testament scriptures where Jesus or His Apostles instructed us as to how we observe the Sabbath under the New Covenant. JLB

Sorry friend I have posted scripture that directly answers your question on more then one occassion. You have chosen to reject these scriptures. this is your decision I do not judge you. It is between you and God as these are God's WORD's not mine.

I am not interested in further discussion with you untill you agree to respond to my posts. You simply choose to ignore these posts and all the scriptures in them that disagree and refuse to adress them. So if we are not able to have a discussion. We will have to agree to dissagree.

...........

The OLD Testament scriptures are the foundation of the NEW Testament. The NEW Testament is built on the Old Testament and together they are the Word of God which gives instruction to follow God. Everything in the NEW Testament builds on instruction already provided in the OLD Testament and is why it is written..

2 TIMOTHY 3:16 [16], ALL SCRIPTURE is given by inspiration of God, AND IS PROFITABLE FOR DOCTRINE, FOR REPROOF, FOR CORRECTION, FOR INSTRUCTION IN RIGHTOEUSNESS.

and again...

MATTHEW 4:4 [4], Man does not live by bread alone but by EVERY WORD that proceeds out of the mouth of God.

As shown in the previous posts God Commands us in the 4th Commandment (Exodus 20:8-11) to REMEMBER the SEVENTH DAY of the week because he has set the SEVENTH DAY aside as a HOLY DAY where NO WORK is to be DONE on this day. The SEVENTH DAY of the week is to be set aside to REMEMBER and worship the GOD of CREATION. NO Bussiness, NO Shopping, NO buying or selling, NO uneccessary domestic work.

Building on the OLD TESTAMENT in the NEW TESTAMENT what did Jesus teach us further about the Sabbath?

1. Jesus taught that it is lawful to do GOOD on the Sabbath? (Matthew 12:1-12; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56)

2. Jesus taught that God's Sabbath was made for mankind and not man for the Sabbath rebuking the tradtions of the Jew in regards to their traditions and interpretation around Sabbath keeping? (Mark 2:27-28; Matthew 12:8)

3. Jesus taught that he was the maker and creator of the Sabbath and the God of creation? (Hebrews 1:2; John 1:1-3; 14; Ephesians 3:9; Colossians 1:16-17; Mark 2:27)

4. Jesus is our example who kept the Sabbath as well as all those who followed him (Matthew 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56; John 2:6; Matthew 16:24; Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Rev 1:10)

5. Jesus taught that break God's Commandments and teach others to do so will not enter God's Kingdom? (Matthew 5:19)

6. Jesus taught that not a jot or tittle will pass from God's LAW until heaven and earth pass away? (Matthew 5:18)

7. Jesus taught that on the two great commandments of LOVE to GOD and MAN hang ALL the LAW and the prophets (Matthew 22:36-40)

8.
Paul warns us that those who do NOT believe and follow GOD do not enter into God's Sabbath rest because of their SINS and UNBELIEF and that there is a KEEPING of the SABBATH to the people of God (Hebrews 3 HEBREWS 4) *HEBREWS 4:9 So then, it remains for the people of God to keep the Sabbath.

9. Paul kept the Sabbath with both Jews and Gentiles (Acts 13:14-15; 42-44; Acts 16:13; Acts 17-1-2; Acts 18:4-5)

10. Jesus, Paul, James, John and Peter all ketp the Sabbath and taught there is 10 Commandments which includes the Sabbath and if you break anyone of God's Commandments you stand guilty before God of breaking all of them (James 2:8-12; Romans 7:7; 3:20; 1 John 3:4).

Why would Jesus and the Apostles give us further instruction in relation to Sabbath keeping building on the OLD TESTAMENET scriptures if we no longer need to keep it? (Point 1, 2, 3, 6)

................

Now my friend your questions linked in this post have been answered with scripture. If you disagree it is ok but if you wish the conversation to continue please respond to this post with the scriptures in them that disagree with your teaching. If you cannot it only shows you are in error.

................

What it all comes down to is that SIN is the breaking of any of God's Commandments (James 2:9-11; Romans 7:7; 1 John 3:4). Those who CONTINUE in KNOWN UNREPENTANT SIN will NOT enter into the KINGDOM of HEAVEN.

................

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has led many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

It’s lawful to do good every day of the week.

If someone needs food or clothing of water or love on a Wednesday, are you going to tell them they have to wait until the Sabbath?

LOL!!!!

Ridiculous

Nope you still have not addressed the scriptures provided why is Jesus teaching it is lawful to do Good on the Sabbath?

So your changing your question now? It is Good that you agree that Jesus and the Apostles taught about the Sabbath in the NEW Testament.

9. Paul kept the Sabbath with both Jews and Gentiles (Acts 13:14-15; 42-44; Acts 16:13; Acts 17-1-2; Acts 18:4-5)

Nope you still have not addressed the scriptures provided why is Jesus teaching it is lawful to do Good on the Sabbath?

It’s lawful to work on the Sabbath to do good, which directly contradicts the law of Moses.

How is that a command to only gather on the Sabbath to worship?

Companion? It was the law. The tablets only had the Ten Commandments engraved on them. Which reminds me... The TCs are the transitory ministry that brought condemnation and death which has no glory now. Other than that, pretty great. (at one time)

2 Corinthians 3:6-11
He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 7 Now if the ministry that brought death, which was engraved in letters on stone, came with glory, so that the Israelites could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of its glory, transitory though it was, 8 will not the ministry of the Spirit be even more glorious? 9 If the ministry that brought condemnation was glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness! 10 For what was glorious has no glory now in comparison with the surpassing glory. 11 And if what was transitory came with glory, how much greater is the glory of that which lasts!

How many commandments were there in the 10 Commandments? 9, 613, 10? (scripture please) What made up the OLD COVENANT?
