Jesus sure did lift the standard, Adultery = if thou hast LOOKED UPON a woman to lust AFTER HER thou hast committed adultery ALREADY (in your heart)... Not just the outward act but the inward one

Even James says if a man not bridle his tongue (even "this man's") religion is vain (as well)

What that means, is you must have His Spirit within you, to empower you to obey His Word/His law.

I will not peddle the Word of God, you either believe it, or you are lawless.

Born again is a work of God. A free gift. A gift of grace. Nothing that we do by ourselves can regenerate our hearts. Jesus died for us while we are still sinners. The law does not save. Never has and never will.

Keeping God's commandments comes naturally from saving faith just like I do good works for my wife because I love her not because I have to. If one has to keep the law for salvation then Jesus died in vain and we are still lost.
