• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Wait... You honestly believe you are winning souls for Christ?

I don't think I've ever seen creationists here convince someone to become a Christian. Steering people away from Christianity, on the other hand...
Perhaps on fertile soil it would be better, but on stony ground we go by this principle:
1 Corinthians 3:16 said:
So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

Because it disagrees with the King James Bible. That is AV's one and only defense against everything, even scripture itself.
Actually, Jase, I would be harder to talk to if I didn't use my King James Bible - for this simple reason:

I do not use my Bible for defense, I use it for offense.

I use my faith for defense - (Ephesians 6:16).

Without my KJV, all I would say to everything is:

I believer otherwise --- I believe otherwise --- I believe otherwise.

Of course I'm sure AV believes in adaptation but creationists have a funny way of pretending that isn't the same thing as evolution.

You're correct: I believe in adaption; but if we pretended anything at all, we'd pretend evolution is real.

That would be a refreshing change from my interpretation of the Bible says so --- my interpretation of the Bible says --- my interpretation of the Bible says so.

Adaptation is evolution, but only those ignorant in science would fail to realize that.

I definitely believe in miracles, and I definitely believe Noah's Flood was a literal world-wide flood.

Let me ask you this: if it was only a local flood---
  • Why was Noah aboard the Ark for over a year?
Why did birds board the Ark?
Why was this Ark so big?
What was the containment wall that kept the water localized?

Your question, of course, assumes that the Biblical account of the flood actually happened exactly as written.

But even so. Let's assume it WAS a global flood.

Where did all that water go when the flood was over?

The seas became vast deep oceans.

And again we are back to my OP. The amount of heat that would be released from all the oceanic lithosphere dropping up to 30,000 feet would vaporize the oceans. There wouldn't be any water.

Of course this completely ignores the fact that the lithosphere sits on the Asthenosphere - which is plastic and wouldn't allow the lithosphere to sink that low without melting it.

I figured someone would pick up on that.

Offense --- as in twoedged sword --- Hebrews 4:12.

Sorry for not replying on this earlier, but I do the NYT Crossword puzzles regularly and at this point it's almost habitually ingrained in me to look for homomyms, synonyms and any other wordplay I that jumps out at me.

No one has a clue what the preDeluge earth was like as per its interior. The FLOOD was obviously a result of sin that corrupted the entire Universe. Everything we presently witness likely has very little to do with what existed at Adam's time. Did you know that Adam nearly lived until the time of the FLOOD? Is the lithosphere a result of the FLOOD, or could it have developed later and helped to bring forth the FLOOD? Who can tell me? Who do I ask? Evolutionists are simply either going to ignore or laugh. They have their own values and opinions to which they cling, wish to support, and build upon.

Here's a mirror. Sometimes, it helps to check it once in a while.
