But it seems a few people want to believe that the corpses in Isaiah 66 are still alive and writhing and screaming in pain. Apparently that is their idea of Heaven. Pretty sick, really.

I cannot imagine for a single second being considered a saint in Heaven and yet just watching someone far off being in some kind of perpetual torment, without balking.

We should pray for them so that they might see it, my friend.

The justice of God and thus the order of the universe would be upset if devils who absolutely hate Him, were allowed to escape their just punishment. Justice in this world or the next is a part of God's love. It is Satan and those who follow him who are unjust and full of hate--both for God and man.
I agree, after being tried in the universe courts of Justice they are destroyed. A torture hell place serves no purpose.

If anyone is interested, here is the...

The Dualistic Conditional Immortality View of Hell

I provided some great verses there that show that the ECT view is not biblical.

...

I just don't have a clue what hell actually is. I am convinced, however, that I do not want to be there and don't want anybody else to be there.

All the more reason to let the beautiful person that Jesus the Christ is shine through us so that others will want to know him too. Once they do, then hell is not an issue.

But God, who determines ALL things, has said that there MUST be a payment for sin. It is easy to see why--sin that goes unpunished is NOT justice. Many critics of Christianity say that the faith is unjust because the only thing that Christians must do is ask for forgiveness and it is as though they never sinned (even though the obligation to make reparations to those harmed is implied by the Bible). They miss the point that Christ took our deserved punishment on Himself. Justice in this world and the next is served.

Well, I believe this relates to sin that believers have repented of (i.e. sins that they have confessed and forsaken; Note: A person who comes to Jesus for the first time can simply admit they have sinned against Him and ask for His mercy and be forgiven. But from there, the Lord will guide and direct them by His Spirit to put any sin out of their life. If they sin again, they have to confess their sins to continue to be forgiven). In other words, as long as people do not turn God's grace into a license for immorality or to say that they can sin and still be saved (Jude 1:4 NIV), then God's grace (i.e. Jesus, and what He has done for us with His death and resurrection) is being properly applied. For if we walk in the light as he is in the light the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7). For the true grace of God teaches us to deny ungodliness and that we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world (Titus 2:11-12).

And I think we are wise to know that.

Let all praise for any good in our life be unto our King, Jesus.
For He is the One who makes us wise and He is the One who does the good though our hearts and lives.

The torment which its inhabitants suffer may be just a feature of the place. The immortal nature of its inhabitants may determine its eternal nature for those who are not destroyed by it. Think about it.

"In its true essence, religion is a faith-trust in the goodness of God. God could be great and absolute, somehow even intelligent and personal, in philosophy, but in religion God must also be moral; he must be good. Man might fear a great God, but he trusts and loves only a good God. This goodness of God is a part of the personality of God, and its full revelation appears only in the personal religious experience of the believing sons of God." UB 1955

God cannot do the ungodlike thing. It's tragic enough that one single child of God would chose to reject the gift of life and the responsibility that comes with it, but the theory that the Father would desire hellish torture is completely at odds with his nature.

Even if the only beings who suffer the everlasting torment are beings filled with spiritual evil such as Satan and his evil angels, the Antichrist, False Prophet, and those who take the Mark of the Beast? That is what I believe--that their immortality makes everlasting torment a consequence (recall that those who take the Mark of the Beast, long to die, during the Great Tribulation--but cannot).

I believe that all the others who are unsaved will have some period of paying for their sins (since they refused to avail themselves of the only one who could remove their sin and its penalties). It is a preliminary judgment. Jesus told us that their punishment will be commensurate with their sin. But then, I believe that, at the Final Judgment, they will be judged to be either "sheep" or "goats". The "sheep" will be granted mercy and the "goats" will be obliterated in the Lake of Fire--the Second Death. It is all there in Scripture. It is very logical.

Suppose that those who rebel against the rule of the Universal Father because they don't believe that he is just, moral and good. Eternal torture would only prove them right.

No--if you are speaking of the beings who I listed, they are rebelling from His authority, not His supposed "injustice". There was no punishment necessary, until the rebellion occurred. You are getting the cart before the horse. They deceive themselves, if they believe He is not just, moral and good--but then, Jesus told us that Satan was "...a liar, from the beginning, and the father of lies". The Bible tells us that Satan rebelled from the rule of God because he wanted to supplant Him. Questioning God's goodness is merely a ploy which Satan uses on humans. It is one of his most ancient and effective strategies--goes back to the Garden of Eden.

Anyone who rebels against the will of God is rebelling against his authority. Weather human or celestial, we all have a choice to do Gods will or not. Those who completely rebell and refuse to receive forgiveness and rehabilitation will be terminated.

The same way I know that God isn't a pedophile.

You know there is no hell, because God doesn't sin?

Your right, he doesn't. That doesn't prove that there is no Hell. It proves there is a place of judgment, because God hates sin. And because He doesn't sin, He wants us to not sin either. But we do. So He made a way for us not to go to Hell.
It shows that God is a good God. For Him to be A good God, means He would also be a just God. Not letting the wicked to get away from rebellion against Him. So, He then sends those who don't repent and place their trust in Him to the lake of fire.

The bodies died, but what their souls.spirits? Some people like to speak as to Sodom was like everlasting fire. -But it too only burned up the bodies, the souls were not destroyed/burned into nothing.

It is a picture of real life. When you see a carcase today it is a picture of death and not life.

Jesus said, "Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell [Gehenna--the Lake of Fire]. " (Matthew 10:28)

The evil dead who are judged at the Final Judgment and end up in the Lake of Fire, are said to be "dead' in Revelation 20 but then they go to a "Second Death". That apparently destroys both their bodies and souls in Gehenna.
