I quendë carnero tierya na Mirkwood
Merla hire i metta i tieva.
Tulala i ostonna i tauressë
I ohtar vantanéro imbë i cari

I apologize, I just realized that my computer removed some of the accent marks and double-dots from some of the words in the Quenya translation. I am sorry, but with the correct resources and some guessing, it should not make things too much harder. And if it does, then there will be some challenge to it.

Truly, it is not too hard as I did not use poetic Quenya, just plain.

The deadline has come to enter the First Quenya Translation Contest. Currently, there is only one contestant, Lycana. Thus, I will await her translation submission. Because of the the relatively small amount of entrants, I will accept entries for a while longer, if anyone else wants to give it a shot.

Good news, Elven friends. I have done as suggested and recorded my voice speaking a Quenya poem that I previously posted in this thread. the only bad news is that I cannot upload it here, since I have no site to upload it to first. So I will email it to the four of you if you desire. All you need to do is send me an email via the CF utility and I will send you back the file.

The text of the reading will be as thus:

Nan valin arwa tyë;
Nan senda arwa tyë.
Haryan lá caurë arwa tyë;
Haryan calassë arwa tyë.
Lá nan vanwa arwa tyë;
Hirnen ëalanya arwa tyë.

I couldn't hear those subtle changes at all, though I definitely know what you mean; I have to fight against letting my voice tone change all the time when I'm singing.
