And what exactly does this mean, in terms of the moon's gender?
She would be female.
She's always changing.
She has a new cycle every month.
She makes the "wolves" howl.
She pulls away the tide like my wife pulls away the blanket.
Sometimes she makes you see stars.

No. Non-living things do not have gender identity.
You shouldn't confuse gender with sex. Sex is being male or female and is related to reproduction. Gender is being masculine, feminine or neuter and is a characteristic of nouns. In English and French the Moon is of the feminine gender (la lune in French); in German it is of the masculine gender (der Mond).

@AV1611VET I'd still like to know what you meant by gender in the literary sense rather than the biological sense.

It's like referring to a ship as "she". Or the French, who assign masculinity and femininity to practically everything. The French call the Moon "la Lune", using the feminine particle "la". That doesn't mean they believe the Moon is biologically female, it's used in a literary sense.

Anything that changes every time you look at it is biologically female.

Thank you again, sir!

[grammar nazi] Your "to dense" s/b "too dense" in your profile. :) [/grammar nazi]

I looked at my husband just now, he was in the kitchen. Earlier he was sitting on the sofa. So he has changed. Is he female?
You ... you say he's in the kitchen?

I believe Yttrium explained it to you.

I take that as a yes.

Can you please explain to me how you determined that the passage in the Bible that refers to the moon as female was speaking in a literary sense and not a literal sense?
