Consider the lobster, and, when in Switzerland, definitely don't just boil it alive.

In an effort to avoid cruelty against the large marine crustaceans, Swiss government officials have banned the practice of plunging live lobsters into boiling hot water, a common culinary practice. The Guardian reports the decision comes "as part of a wider overhaul of Swiss animal protection laws." The revamped law orders that lobsters "will now have to be stunned before they are put to death."

I must protest. Freezing to death is the least painless way to die of anything.
There should be no restrictions on the use of cold or ice. I would suggest
a quick dip in liquid nitrogen as the best solution.

This makes me sad:

"But the University of Maine's Lobster Institute says the animal's nervous system might not be complex enough to sense pain. The institute suggests lobsters actually have a primitive nervous system akin to that of an insect." -- how can people be comfortable to speak in such a way?
