Here is an excellent debate on the Sabbath. I haven't finished it yet but what I've seen so far is very good: http://youtu.be/LdfeMkgqgrQ

I watched that before, it was pretty good. Jim Staley stuck with the bible and Chris had to use 1st century Christians writings for everything. They both had great points, but I think Jim won that debate.

There is no debate over the Sabbath except with those who want Christians to reject the freedom for which Christ has set us free, and instead return to the burden of the yoke of slavery to the Law.

The debate is not over the Sabbath, the debate is between the Law and Grace...as it has been from the very beginning of Christianity. To which the majority of the NT is written to guard against....our succumbing to the attempts by those who seek to put us back under that which Christ gave His life to free us from.

gen 15:6, had nothing to do with a Jewish origin, in fact, everywhere Paul used Abraham, who first got the gospel as a gentile, was used to ward off Judaism, law, circumcision, pride, nationalism, ethnic supremacy, etc.
Thou shall not steal is a law, Thou shall have no other God is a law. So are these not for us also?

Are free to kill and steal?

I noticed something interesting about the debate. Did you notice how much energy Jim had? Interesting.

Some turn the grace of God into a license to sin.

Thank you Bob. I have been keeping a Saturday Sabbath awhile and I am leaning towards this being the right way.

You are most welcomed! Take a look at this thread - skim the first few pages - #1

You will find that on many of the most hotly debated points on this area of the board - the fact is that we are in full agreement with even the majority of pro-sunday scholarship.

You would not know it based on all the complaints about those points you find on threads like this - but in fact a great deal of agreement does exist on "the basics".

in Christ,

Bob

You clearly have not read the 10 commandments because #8 is thou shalt not steal and there is severe penalties for thieves.

So? Obviously, you are saying, apparently without even being aware of it, that under the Law people were still free to kill and steal, otherwise there would be no need for penalties, as none would be free to kill and steal.

And of course even the majority of pro-sunday scholarship chooses not to be at war against the Ten Commandments - affirming that even the Sabbath commandment remains and is binding on all the saints. They have a 7 point list that I have identified - where I agree with them on 6 of their 7 points.

They do but they have grace.

Nope. Under Law OR under Grace. Under the Law there is only the unrelenting demand for total perfect compliance.

But anyway, that is just an irrelevent attempt by you to distract away from your other error being shown for the error that it was.

Please explain why these pro-sunday scholars don't push nor practice the 7th day Sabbath.

Quote proof they did.
