It seems you are having a hard time comprehending my friend maybe you should eat more super foods. Because in post #81 he stated that the Sabbath was never discussed in his Church. Since the Sabbath is command number four it's clear that his Church was not thoroughly reviewing the 10 commandments or he was not listening.
It is actually very common to not discuss the 4th in many churches. This means it is not an issue of contention. The word Sabbath is mentioned all the time but not in the way of promoting the 7th day Sabbath. The normal Sunday meeting churches call Sunday the Sabbath. Admittedly this is wrong. NTL they are not talking about the 7th day Sabbath. You can not discount personal testimony which is the experience of another. You can refuse to accept it though.

Yes I am saying that you are giving licence to sin brother. I am not trying to be mean or rude but God's word states that sin is transgression of the law. Jesus taught that we must not only keep the law but we must go far beyond it and exceed the righteousness of the Pharisees.
Really? I'm giving out licenses to sin?
Should I act shocked about honesty? The honesty I see is: struggling with God's word...All of it.

Based on your request for directions, I pointed you to the Gospel,(not the law) and made it clear, I'm not pointing to sin.
Under the disguise of "struggling" you've presented the customary same old drive-by arguments\condemnation without clear scriptures to prove your words.

Q: Why would someone who is struggling not point to specific scriptures for discussion?
A: Maybe they're have another agenda than to understand what others believe.

Do you believe that Jesus is God?

The "Lords day" was a common expression used by those first Christians to refer to the day of Jesus resurrection. Which was on the first day of the week.

Now how about you answer my question with an answer.

Actually the Apostle John was a Jew as were the rest of the 12 Apostles. And he no doubt kept the Sabbath day on Saturday. So with out a doubt he was speaking of Saturday. There you go, I am beginning to answer your question. And I did so with a question but you failed to see the correct answer.

They were all Christians whose ethnicity was Jewish. So, in fact, you have failed to answer the questions.

Actually you are incorrect Sir. Technically John was a disciple of Jesus Christ and I am sure extremely devout in his Jewish faith as was Christ. Remember the disciples were called Christians first at Antioch. Christian was a term that was slander and was hardly ever used in the early Church. Check your bible and you will find the word Christian is only used 3 times but the word disciple is used 271 times.

Christians are how we who are Christ-ones identify ourselves. Without a common language, communication is impossible.

They were all Christians, and Christianity is not the religion of Judaism.

Now, let's get back to the question. If you agree that Jesus Christ is our true and eternal Sabbath Rest, why do you then insist on a day of the week as being the Christians sabbath rest?

No Sir your understanding of Church history is severely flawed. They did not identify as Christians. They were Jews and they were disciples. Christian was a slanderous term the disciples were called by Pagans. And actually "Christianity" is a religion of Jewish origin.

I think I have been answering this a little bit at a time throughout the thread. Jesus commanded us to rest on Saturday and that is one of the ways that he brings me peace.

Yes it was a derogatory term used against us, that we took and wear as a badge of honor, as Christ-ones, Christians.

Christianity is not the religion of Judaism.

So then you don't really agree with the statement you said you did, that Jesus Christ is our true and eternal Sabbath Rest. Got it.

Man I am unable to continue going rounds with you I'm really busy right now trying to learn and grow and help others do the same. You seem like someone who is set in their ways and unwilling to expand their consciousness. I need to move on to conversations that I feel are more productive. So anyway have a nice day and good luck with your studies.

Notice that Jesus Christ stated the Sabbath was made for "man"? He didn't say it was made for Jews.
Why did God wait more than a 1,000 years to inform mankind of this? Essentially this is nothing more than an out of context proof text which disagrees with Moses.

13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the Lord that doth sanctify you.

14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the Lord: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.

16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. EX 31

2 chron 2:4 Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of the Lord my God and dedicate it to him for the burning of incense of sweet spices before him, and for the regular arrangement of the showbread, and for burnt offerings morning and evening, on the Sabbaths and the new moons and the appointed feasts of the Lord our God, as ordained forever for Israel.

i have about 9 more verses showing that the law, which included the 10 in the old cov, were not given to gentiles, so 'man" must be appropriated properly.
