Strippers...What are your thoughts??

Weren't Adam and Eve naked before they ate of that apple? They were ashamed of themselves thereafter but if some people have overcome that shame now what is wrong with it then? By the way, what about nudists? how do you christians look at that subject () Since they are basicly Adam and Eve before they ate of the apple, you should all promote that right?

Given that I was there with 4 other people and we all left in the middle of her act to squeeze in a film and a couple of games of lazerquest I think their thought processes and mine were fairly similar.

Its not that she was unattractive or a bad dancer, its just that its not something that interests me. Frankly I had been talking to her in the bar before hand about (of all things) military history and I found her rather interesting to talk to.

I have, in the past, known and dated many strippers. From my experience there are strippers who are just there to work their way through school, etc. and quit once they achieve that goal, but these are a tiny minority. The majority were involved in drugs, porn, and prostitution.

Now of course this may not be the case in all areas, but where I live strip bars are often controlled by organized crime and act as places where one can purchase drugs and set up "dates".

I would discourage someone from making the choice to strip. It isn't about nudity, it's about inspiring lust for a profit. I tend to believe that taking advantage of human weakness to turn a profit is unethical.

I believe all strippers are in it for the money, and not the propaganda of showing their naked bodies. It's a sad, sleazy biz: many of the girls do it desperately, some of them are on drugs, and it's a far cry from the old days of strippers, in which there was bump and grind and more teasing. Nowadays, they have simulated sex, and that's called stripping! Most women are against it, and men, while although they are not for it, they post a more relaxed attitude. If there was a more balanced male version of stripping that women were attracted to go see, there might be a different attitude from the men.

Do you think its fair for me to call lawyers scum because the only ones I've known are leeches? Some areas of the business arent as clean as they could be, but that does not mean the whole business is "sleazy"

Not exaclty. You see, stripping has one purpose and one purpose only: to appeal to lust. There is no product other than sexual titilation. The industry exists solely to appeal to the prurient interest and nothing more. Porn and gambling are other examples of this type of industry.

Perhaps I should clarify what I mean by human weakness. I'm referring to innate desires that everyone has. In this case sexual desire, which taken to an extreme becomes lust. Lust can be like a form of temporary insanity. It can drive one to do things they'd not normally do. Stripping/porn take advantage of this for profit.

The examples of weight/fashion are culturally induced and not necessarily innate.

But isn't the desire to be loved, fit in, and be accepted as a part of a larger community innate? Don't we socialize children/teens that fitting in and being accepted are at least partially determined by how you look? I think that weight & fashion make perfect sense...

This is something strippers say on tv to sound professional and safe. Every place I have ever been, this "rule" is negotiable to some extent or other, and more and more strip clubs are availing themselves of the concept of the private room or VIP section. And I don't think saying strippers are yucky is some sort of personal affront to strippers as human beings. And I ought to know, having racked up a lot of miles in those kinds of bars in my past, and even the not so distant past. To be honest, it is probably one of my more difficult to admit and deal with struggles, since I am on the road a lot and many of the men I work with go to the places. I got into the habit in the Navy in the early 90's, and it led to some bad things in my life for sure.

People should do themselves a favor and not consider it necessary to experience something before judging it. It's a bad scene. Please, please trust me on this one if you are a Christian.

All I can say is you need to take some ethics classes. It is, indeed, unethical to prey on human weakness. Good business practice is to make deals that are mutually beneficial. That's healthy commerce.

The "adult entertainment industry" as it is euphamistically referred to is an entire subculture that revolves around misrepresentations, lies, deceit and preying on people. In many cases, it is an almost codependant relationship between the customer and the sex worker.

Yes Shane! I see that too. As the Lord said, in the last days before his return people will be calling good evil and evil good. It really IS turning backwards nowadays isn't it? I can't imagine any parent not being upset with their daughter entering the stripper/nude dancer business back when I was a kid.

personally i think a christian shouldn't visit or even be a stripper, coz what you are doing will affect others. Remember it is written in the bible that 1 can sin without putting it in action. It means that 1 can actually sin with 1's thoughts. By visiting a strip club wo't u'll be fantasising bout having sex with the stripper and is it not written in the bible that any who hav sex with another person other than their own spouse is committing adultery and if u r not married aren't u not committing fornication, and is it not written in the bible no sex before marriage!!!!

Hello The 1st thing they do when they realise that they are naked was they sew together leaf to cover their own nakedness. if it is a good thing why on earth would they want to cover their nakedness!!!!!

Didn't they have a fallen nature at that point? This wasn't shown as an improvement in human nature.

Anyway, embarrassment at being naked does not mean that nakedness is a bad thing. It simply means one can feel embarrassed at being naked, especially if one is not used to it.

What continually blows my mind is that people think the human body is something shameful and needs to be covered. When they dont get that there is NOTHING wrong with the human body and/or swinging it around. Does it it get you excited? DUH! The human body (usually) has nice curves for a reason.
