  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Strippers...What are your thoughts??

It is impossible to go to a show like this and not have lustful thoughts. The Bible says that if you lust in your mind, you are just as guilty of the sin as if you had done the actual act for real. Remember King David? Where did it start? Answer: in his mind. What did it lead to? Someone died.

This is an inaccurate statement - I just went to the Chippendales show in Vegas and it was amazing - but in many ways more amusing than sexual. The most thrilling visual part involved rather acrobatic feats using drapery... I do not want to take these guys home - I simply enjoy the illusion of a man who will go to great lengths to please me. The patron likes the appearance of control, of being the object of desire - I imagine that most men enjoy a similar illusion about the stripper in front of them.

Jesus said 'you heard it said the thou shall not commit adultry, but I say to you that look upon another with lust has already commited adultry with them in their mind'

I do not hate strippers, I believe it problematic for salvation to place yourself in situations, where you know your mind is your greatest enemy, true you may not do anything, but our thought life is judged as well. To say they are nice people, they need the money, they are not hurting anyone are justifications for what your conscience is telling you no. better to help them by giving them money, better job, etc. For what it profit a man who gains love from this world and all the money but looses his soul on the day of judgement.

Before, you go on I'm not in anyway supporting them so I hope no one takes offense to this.

Anyways, my question is how do you all feel about family members/bf/gf's seeing strippers? I recently heard a distant friend that I am staying with talk about going to see one and immediately felt very awkward around them! I just don't understand why anyone would want to see one. Or why boyfriends, girlfriends, husbands, wives, fathers, mothers or what not would feel the need to go see them so strongly that they would risk that relationship. Just my opinion and again sorry in advance if I offended anyone!
I would leave my boyfriend immediately if he went to a strip bar. No question.
But he's not even interested in going anyway, so I have nothing to worry about. :)
