Lol we have been through this before.
Why is it some people take the Bible literal in some parts but ignore the obvious literal points.
Did God literally to use a rod on a child? No! He was speaking of not disciplining your child. Why is it people think you have to strike someone to teach them. Seems to me to be living by the sword. Did Jesus smack his disciples? Why not? For those who think you should use a rod, what if i pulled out my staff when you said something I did not like and beat you with it, I mean you were wrong for saying it, It was clear i was right, would it then be ok for me to beat you? no? then why do you do it to children.
The truth is i have never seen a case of a parent striking a child that was not done out of anger. Now in James God tells us to be slow to anger, that human anger does not serve the Lord. So why do you have it with your child?
So Jesus turned over tables and made a whip. this is not as you portray it Btw Jesus did not whip people as He was whipped, most likely He used it on the animals. Unless you can point to where the Bible says He whipped a person. You should be ashamed portraying Jesus that way, As a God/Man who strikes people. Was it not Jesus that said turn the Other cheek, and that means just that if someone strikes you offer your other cheek too. Not everyone can here that, and I have heard preachers say Jesus did not mean turn the other cheek if some one hits you you hit them back, bull, false doctrine. Jesus did not strike anyone who beat Him, spit in His face, whipped Him, or nailed Him to the Cross for death.
So hey its fine you live by I can strike my child, but don't be a punk, when you do something wrong against an adult expect to be struck. After all your living By the sword.
Jesus speaks of rule with a rod during the thousand years. It means discipline comes fast, and disobedience is not put up with for a second, does not mean he goes around hitting people with a iron rod.
98 you think the Bible is not literal in 6 day creation yet you think He meant it literal with the rod? lol ok

I guess you pick and chose what you want the Bible to say.
The problem people have with reading the Bible is they have their beliefs set, they then take and ignore from the Bible to fit with what they believe. This Is the wrong way. You should first be willing to change read the word except it for what it Says and then you change to fit the Bible, don't change the Bible to fit you.
