Because they have no proof He doesn't and they are not really sure. And while, Zeus is agreed upon to be a myth, at least the Greeks had the sense to know there was more than just the physical realm around them. Although, they may not have had it exactly right they didn't deny the existence of a greater power than they. To deny God is a choice because it is within all men to know that there is a God. A person has to step over the evidence and choose to deny God bringing upon themselves a darkness they don't even know they are enveloped in.
"Oh no, a question I can't answer! I'll just blame it on Nathan and follow up with an unnecessary Bible verse!"
When presented with the chance to exchange falsehood for truth, any scientist will be frothing at the mouth. If you really know, then we want to, too!
Quite so. And if you really know, then it won't matter what I argue, will it?
Rubbish. You've offered up absolutely no evidence for God except a few passages from a book which isn't taken seriously by the people you're trying to convince.
. . . And while, God is agreed upon to be a myth, at least the Christians had the sense to know there was more than just the physical realm around them. . .
Fixed.

Mat 7:6 "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.
so now some parts of the bible is literal and others figurative? how can you possibly tell what parts are what?
If taking the bible laterally, You should not give what is holly to the DOGS. we are not dogs, nor pigs. how can a dog crush a pearl? for that matter, why should all dogs be persecuted? i thought they were mans best friend?
Because we reject your god for the same reasons that you reject Zeus
I don't get what the big deal about Zeus is. If you are saying you don't believe in God because you don't believe He is real why not just say that? If that is what you are saying then that's right I don't believe in Zeus because I don't believe he is real. I'm quite sure that even the Greeks no longer believe he is real (but maybe some do) and they say it was all just narratives about their gods. That is your choice if you don't want to believe in God. God has given you the free will to do that. Hope we're done with Zeus now.
Wait, hold it right there. So it was within the power of native Americans before the English came to know god? People only know about god when Christians tell them. Its not in inherent. Its a cultural belief, its not a genetically inherent. Please show god is inherent in humans. Please show cases of people believing in god BEFORE they were exposed to the concept of god. If you cannot, retract your statement, or your bearing false witness.
again, evidence. You cant just say their is evidence and provide none. you come to me with empty handed bearing false witness. why would you do such a thing?
Doesn't need to be Zeus. We reject your god for the same reaons that you reject: Zeus, Odin, Herne, Ra, Mithras, Astarte, Isis etc etc etc.
You don't believe Zeus is real, and for the same reasons that we don't believe your god is real.
I hope that you can see that. You reject a whole heap of gods because you think that the evidence for them is lacking. We reject the Christian god for the same reason.
History does prove that Jesus Christ walked on this earth.

And there's proof that Jim Jones and David Koresh walked on the earth. Are you going to worship either of them? At any rate, prove that the Jesus depicted in the Bible exists. You know, the one that rose from the dead after three days and performed all these different miracles. The evidence of the historical record seems surprisingly absent in regards to that Jesus Christ.
Whoa whoa whoa calm down ML. Native Americans did believe in God before the English came. Did you ever hear of the Great Spirit? There are a lot of people all over the world in remote places that believe in God. I think what you mean is Jesus Christ.
One more small point I think you came to me, I didn't come to you, but it's okay we can still be friends, after you calm down abit
I don't think there is any proof of Zeus and the boys. I know you like his thunder but you gotta let him go Baggins.
No, they believed in a god (or, for some tribes, multiple gods). It cannot be demonstrated that the god(s) in which they believed is God (ie., the Christian god). That's merely what you like to think.Whoa whoa whoa calm down ML. Native Americans did believe in God before the English came. Did you ever hear of the Great Spirit?
Same again. They believe in a god; that doesn't mean they believe in God.There are a lot of people all over the world in remote places that believe in God.
No, history doesn't prove that. 'History' doesn't prove anything. Evidence demonstrates things, and the evidence that Jesus actually walked the earth is far from conclusive. I consider it very likely taht he did walk the earth, but it's certainly not proven.History does prove that Jesus Christ walked on this earth.
Really? How does history PROVE that Jesus Christ was a real person? I happen to believe he was but the historical evidence is sadly lacking. AFAIK there is only the one reference in Josephus and that may be a fabrication by a monk who translated Josephus in about 300 AD IIRC. It is almost certain that the passage was "improved" by the translator.
History does prove that Jesus Christ walked on this earth.
