  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Not if they can not find a host to cause sickness in.
And how would you magically propose this happens?

Hey, how about statistics on christians? If what you're saying is right, then they get alot less sick, right?

But they don't. Well, apart from STD's :)
Now I have a question. Why do doctors and nurses seldom get sick, even though they are around sick people all day?
My mother gets as sick as me, but what has this got to do with anything, I wonder.

There are a few studies that come to mind. One had to do with high blood preassure. There was no preferance for Christians over other religions, but in general, they more someone attended church, the more they read their Bible and prayed, the lower their blood preasure was.

Another study I remember was a five year study on people who are giving people or who do things to help others. It could be something as small as just picking up a news paper for a neighbor. The study found the health of giving, helping people is better and they live longer. The women really tried hard to make adjustments for people who are to sick to begin with to do anything to help others. But the results showed that selfish people have more health problems and they die sooner than people who do what they can to help others.

In general the studies have found that calling yourself a christian does not seem to make any difference. But doing things that would be considered christian, does seem to make a difference.

Not that again.
Yes, your right it does happen a lot around here. People just keep projecting themselves out on others. Pretty soon I am going to have to dig out my pogo cartoon again.

People who have a pet also live longer.

That has nothing to do with christianity, just general well being. People who feel good about themselves live longer.

But since we are talking about disease, show me statistics on bacteria and virus infection rates, from christians to non-christians. You said yourself that they wouldn't find a host to infect themselves in, perhaps you should try and back up that claim. If you don't, no-one will ever take you seriously.

That would be part two, and we would need to go back into the teaching of Moses. But one thing that would be covered by Moses, is any disease that could be found in Egypt at that time.

Ex 15:26 - Show Context and said, "If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you." My sister told me about a book written by a medical doctor called something like: "none of these diseases". He talks about Moses and a Bible approach to staying healthy.
Is it possible that Moses was referring to the plagues when he said "diseases"? I'm not sure how far along that passage is, but it would make sense. I somehow doubt that Moses introduced the cold to Egypt.

So you're telling me, in any serious way, that a nursing student and a pre-med student (neither of which would have any real medical knowledge anyway) would agree with your anti-medicine argument? If so why do they study what they study? And if not then why did you post their names on the forum? "look, I have a premed student friend, so my point must be valid"?

I still want to know what this was all about. Why had you posted a pic of a premed student and a nursing student? What relevance has this?

.....It has to do with why I have a problem with doctors. The answer being, because they do not know or understand the true problem or cause of sickness and disease.

Wow!! You have just single-handedly undermned the entire medical community.

Truth sets people free. When you preach and teach the truth, you can expect to see miracles, signs, wonders, healing and deliverance.

And when you make asinine claims like this, it is you who needs to be taught the truth.

For example, spiritual sickness and being spiritually asleep, (dead), is completely different from being physically sick. You mean to tell me that in all your talks with all those pastors, and in all your studies over the years, you are still unable to comprehend this?

The old saying is wrong. Practice does not make perfect. If you are repeating the same mistakes, you will only become proficient in those mistakes.

Ok, would you rather talk to Danielle, she is a biology major and a premed student.
Or you could talk to Naneng, she is a nursing student.

JohnR7: To find you posting these photos here is disturbing. I know, I'm an evil, filthy, warped atheist, but c'mon. I wouldn't feel comfortable taking these photos, even with age-of-consent forms, say nothing about posting them.

LOL, yes I've seen this article :D

Over 65s only...
Religious events and ceremonies = lower BP
Religious media (TV, radio, internet) = higher BP

(anyone who wants to read it, Pubmed search 'bible blood pressure' and its the only one which shows)

I agree :(

FWIW though... I'm a 5'8" 120lb ex-model, ex-international athlete, now a surgeon. I'm a lot classier and better looking than any of the girls posted here - does that mean you'll accept my views JohnR7?

Or would you need a picture of me to prove it? Because I can provide one if you like ;)

I.. think this is sarcasm, if not, I never pictured you as a girl. Weird.

Or are you saying that you're a guy, but look better than the girls?

Confusing >_<
