But since we're all fairly anonymous here and don't 'know' each other personally, why in God's green earth would we choose to be personally offended with the comments of anonymous posters??? It wouldn't make sense.

If my closest friends were to say some of the things said here, or if my wife did, then I could be offended and have my feelings hurt. But that just isn't the case. Some people are wound WAY too tight and need to go in and have the tension on their 'spring' loosened a whole lot. A few just need to have it removed completely!

And what has happened to the first amendment right of FREE speech? Seems every body is so concerned with their itsy bitsy's now days. If someone says something that is 'off' to others, why not ask for an apology and when you get it--let it go? Why did those blacks DEMAND his job? I found that quite telling.

America has turned into the 'thought police' country, just like Nazi Germany was.

I don't know what reports you are referring to, but here is a problem I have come up against in the past.

Person A posts something that is marginal but I refused to report it and posted what I considered to be appropriate response. Person A gets offended by my response and reports it. The Mods ignore the fact that my response was incited by Person A's post and advise that instead of replying in kind the best thing is to report the marginal post.

That may not explain what you are referring to in this case but it has happened.

You are reflecting a not too positive attitude. "Fire" is also a word used in many songs and speeches but it is still not allowed for one to holler "Fire" in a crowded Theatre. You are using much too narrow a perspective in this subject.

In reality - we may not convince each other to change our minds but we may very well be setting a bad example to those who may be lurking in the shadows, and "saying look at those Adventists arguing with each other - why would I want to belong to their church?"

That is what we should really be concerned about - come to some kind of consensus so that we can witness to non-Adventists that come here.

I for one believe that our church has an end time message to share with the world, and we are not setting a good example (me included and I'm not pointing fingers at anyone).

To those that maybe lurking please accept my apologizes, and please don't let what happens in this forum stop you from examining the truths of the Bible presented by Adventists. Test us, give us a chance, be convinced by the Bible for that is the standard we are all judged by.

I find it interesting to occasionally follow the bickerings of Adventists. All denominations have their contentious issues, but SDA's have more than their fair share. This is especially interesting when, at least in official fudamental statements, you have a prolific modern day "prophetess" to explain things.

You're right, people everywhere are not all at the same place theologically, but contrast the amount of posts and tone of the Adventist boards to say, the Lutheran boards. You folks are much more entertaining.

In case anyone missed the Glenn Beck show last night- you missed the most courageous display of truth in a long time. He came out with guns blazing against the silence of the other news media about this immigration crisis and against the Congress for turning a deaf ear to this invasion of America by foreign nationals.

If he lives (and I'm not being funny) to fulfill his promise to expose the full impact of this invasion on our soil, he will be a hero in our history books.

I'm not a big fan of Beck--he and I clash on many issues, but on this one he is right on.

The rappers are being condemned and the issue is out there, just cos you do not watch the shows that discuss this or listen to the radio programmes that discuss this. If white people want the freedom to use the N work, burn crosses or wear white sheets go ahead but be prepared for a response when you do.
I am almost surprised that Christian Adventist people defend racists sentiments with the 'well they do it to each other' excuse. Then again I am in a church with a history of poor race relations so how could I forget.....

America does. I don't know about europe. I am in favor of open immegration everywhere, and don't think that a capitalist society can work well without open (or close to open) immegration.

If an area can sustain the immegration, it will look less interesting, and less people will immegrate there/more people will leave.

Not this time budda. Those sneaking into this country now have a much different mind set than did those LEGAL immigrants of times past.

Those coming now are not coming to become Americans--they are coming to rape this country and they ARE doing just that. When they come across the border--they are felons--then once they get embedded, they continue to rape (women), steal, rob, sell drugs, steal identities (SS#'s), drive cars without licenses or insurance, hit and runs, drive hospitals out of business because they refuse to pay for services, murder 25 Americans everyday for various reasons (it happened right here in my town a few months ago, treat the naturals rudely (I have been a victim of this personally), refuse to learn the language of the land (English) and expects the naturals to learn 'their' tongue. (Are you tired on having to press 1 for English in your own land?)The list goes on and on.

No--these aliens are a much different breed than have ever hit these shores. Unless you have missed the open agenda speeches of La Raza and other Mexican militant groups--they make no bones about it. They intent to take over this country and because the American ppl seem impotent to rise to the invasion--they certainly will do it.

Bush and his henchmen are pushing hard for this North American Union--and they could care less how we feel about it or how much we oppose it.

Three time the Senate has tried to push an amnesty bill down the throats of the American ppl and three times WE THE PEOPLE defeated it. I thank GOD for those American who are awake enough and not in some kind of ignorant stupor to make those phone calls and faxes and letters DEMANDING that their ELECTED officials do what they were sent to Washington to do--and that is to REPRESENT the WILL of the PEOPLE.

It IS time to wake up America, because if YOU don't do something about this invasion, tomorrow this country will not be ours!

I dont like driving down the streets of my town and seeing business's that have spanish names that i cant read, signs (marquees) at fast food resturants written in spanish outside (major fast food chains), etc. Its not right. This is America. We speak English here. Learn the language so you can fit in, not US learn spanish.

I have no problems when i go to other countries and i have to take a translator so i can understand what i am reading and how to communicate. but i shouldnt have to use that in my own country. If i have to learn the language of a foriegn country while i am there, they should have to speak and learn English here.

Get a very good dictionary and look up the sources of our words. I just learned this week that our word "hurricane" came the Indians who inhabited Hispanola when Columbus landed. I can show you about 150 words in English that came from the koine Greek in which the NT was written.

My cousin noted that he learned a lot about English when he studied German for his doctorate.

We can learn a lot when we stop being so provincial.
