Sorry, but if you haven't noticed the word of God uses many literary devices and different writing styles. And Scripture can be vague or seemingly ambiguous or even contradictory at times, which is why there are many differing and conflicting interpretations, often equally plausible enough.

They should all mean the same. Perhaps you mean your theology? The 'good' thief practised the ways of the kingdom in his concern for others, while the other thief sought physical gain for himself like most of mankind. That is in all Bibles.

I deny the thief was saved by works, I affirm the thief was saved and justified (declared righteous) by faith according to authoritative apostolic teaching (Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 4:2-5, Romans 1:17, Romans 3:21-22, Romans 3:28).

Yet it plainly says he put Jesus' teachings into practice and in doing so declared Jesus' teachings worthy over the ways of man, thus making himself worthy of the Kingdom. The other thief did the opposite and declared himself unworthy

At this point, please direct your attention to 2 Timothy 3:5. That verse speaks of a power of godliness and for at least Timothy to avoid ungodly people who have merely a form without the power. What is this power? How is it manifested? And how does it relate to being righteous to the degree that sin is mortified as in Romans 8:13 so that Romans 2:6 applies to those in Christ Jesus?
