The wicked shall depart to Sheol,
all the nations that forget God. Psalm 9:17 RSV

Then I saw this message on a T-shirt on Facebook:

Dear God,
Why do you allow so much violence in schools?
Signed,
a concerned student.

Dear Concerned Student,
I’m not allowed in schools.
God

Maybe it’s time to allow prayer in American schools.

I think you are misrepresenting Proverbs 28:9:

If one turns away his ear from hearing the law,

Oh, I inadvertently left the most important one off the list: Jesus in the parents of the students, in thought, word, heart, and deed. Without this the rest are too weak to fix schools for the long term.

I agree with your argument. If God is shunned in public schools, it's no wonder his protecting hand isn't there. Bring Christ and prayer back to school, and peace and security will follow.

Students not being forced to pray is not the same thing as saying prayer isn't allowed in schools.

Yes, but this isn't a game. When a nation strays from the Lord, it gets itself into trouble. So many it's not good enough to let a child pray. (And aren't I hearing stories that prayer groups are being banned from schools?) Maybe a teacher should lead the class in prayer.

We live in a society that mocks and marginalizes the poor, actively encourages greed and worships violence and weapons. I think the last thing God would have an issue with is that we don't force children to pray every day.

I don't see society doing the things you say they are doing, though there are some that do. You're not forcing kids to pray. Your forcing the teacher to say a prayer. She can read it from a card, if she'd like.

If you want your children to begin the school day with prayer, then get down on your knees and pray with them in the mornings. Don't ask the teacher to do your job for you. Raise your own kids.

I don't have any kids, but I did sing two Christian songs I wrote, at a concert this afternoon. What are you doing to help the country?
