The gospel saves us from the perils of sin we might remain ignorant of otherwise.So, why preach it, if only already saved people can accept it? Makes no sense. The gospel is not for the saved, it's for sinners.

This is why we preach the gospel far and wide. Those with ears to hear will hear and respond.That doesn’t answer the question How can someone turn to Christ if they don’t know who He is? They must first hear the gospel.

Why did so many no longer walk with him in hearing what he said?No actually Jesus was speaking only to His 11 faithful apostles while on the way to the olive grove at Gethsemane excluding Judas who had already gone to betray Him.
