Traditions are not set in stone...:D.. so let's not get panty wad over the details.. relax and enjoy the Lord's appointed times.. learn from Him.. and rest easy in His blessings and sanctification He has put into these set-aside times for His anointing.

you can't earn the "anointing" by shabbat.

Look here..he is our peace, without law. The Corinthians and Galatians had the Spirit, miracles etc, without the law, no shabbat.

14 For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility 15 by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace,

There is nothing "earned".. it is called being at the right place at the right time.. like those who came to celebrate Pentecost that one year.

You will not find "NOT" in that verse...

The whole chapter was a "let no one"....

Why would the false teachers, judge them for keeping it? That would not jive.

Here, the NLT puts the not in for ya...

16 So don’t let anyone condemn you for what you eat or drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new moon ceremonies or Sabbaths.

The "let no ones" have to jive, if not, then we have to presume, we should worship angels, and it is ok to be taken captive to strange teachings, 2:4, and 2:8. See what I mean?

16 Therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink, or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath. 17 These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ. 18 Let no one disqualify you, insisting on asceticism and worship of angels, going on in detail about visions, [4] puffed up without reason by his sensuous mind,

Don't let any one tell you how to keep it, that is between you and the Lord, just do what the Lord directs not Oral Traditions

well..before we move on to my proving it was not oral there, do you agree the the context indicates that the "let no ones" have to jive? In other words, if the let no ones warded off strange teachings, and angel worship, then do you agree the "let no one" of 16, was to ward off also?

Why would the false teachers judge them FOR keeping it? That would not make sense. Paul was warding off what they were pushing.

Scripture teaches that the jewish calendar was a waste of time, for the churches. Gal 4;10, i did not post it, because u have seen it from me.:)

My dear sister, the cross was were all that ended.

Thw world crucified to you, and you to the world. You were wisked out of the adamic creation, when you rose with Christ, Rom 6. You are now in a new place, that does not need ritual. Trust Paul, I know the MJ crowd does not like him, but Luke sure wrote about em. Paul's writings have been leading people to Christ for 20 centuries.

Look at this, the old reign/dominion was adam, the new reign is grace, a sphere. Rom 5:2.

5;21 so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Within the NT church there were both Jewish and Gentiles people. For Jewish people circumcision, Sabbath and unclean food were major issues. For Gentiles they too had issues with Jews, holy days and sometimes foods. The matter of food offered to idols affected both groups. This is why these specific issues are addressed in the NT letters.

Apart from such deeply held religious/cultural beliefs the NT Christians had to get their heads around what place Torah now had for the new community. We see many references to the passing of Torah in Christ, as He was the fulfilment of it. That is the larger and more general position. Within that Paul seems to allow personal conviction on really sensitive issues (as above) but most likely within a context of later maturity and further understanding leading to more settled positions across the church.

Thus, to argue Sabbath keeping as a specific practice while rejecting Torah as the basis for acceptance by God rather overlooks the broader issue of what real freedom in Christ is all about.

false teachers were judging on how it was to be done according to the traditions. Paul always fought the traditions, saying they were not necessary for faith.

And Jesus was on Mount Sinai handing the TEN to Moses.. and He now serves as our High Priest in the Temple from which Moses made the sample on earth with all the procedures that are being carried out in Heaven.

The context was Torah, that is why they can't judge them for not keeping it.

What were the LEGAL demands, ...traditions? Did he disarm rulers or mens traditions? Torah was the issue, with the Sabbath.:p

14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. 15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.

Yep... it was the man's traditions.. that not only Yeshua fought against.. but Paul too especially when they hampered those who were obedient to God's commands.

The record of debt.. is the same thing as saying ... the Penalty for sins.

Sabbath is not a Jewish tradition or Jewish ceremony.. God claims it is His.. Lev 23.. not saying the Jews don't keep the shabbat... As Yeshua said.. it was made for man..

so far in that section of 2, we got legal, we got sins forgiven, we got disarmed principlaities, but somehow it was all from the traditions of men, being nailed to the cross.:D

I guess we were dead in the traditions of men?

13 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,

You're asking alot to think it was not the torah and sabbath.

well without going 40 pages about how it was not for gentiles..

Psalm 147:19 He declares his word to Jacob, his statutes and rules to Israel.20 He has not dealt thus with any other nation;they do not know his rules.
Praise the LORD!

Just know it is from the past, the cross ended that all.

Unless of course you do not hink we were raised up out of the old order.

Law was added to the adamic creation, rom 5;20. r u still in adam?:p

It is for gentiles.. from one sabbath to the next... for all eternity

Isaiah 56:6
Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;

Isaiah 66:23
And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.
